I can see this being a twist. Natsu for so long wanted to deny his demon side, and believed he got rid of it thsnks to Lucy. But imagine if one day it gets revealed that Natsu is STILL a demon and Lucy knew about this but kept it a secret because when she tried to disconnect zeref and the book, she found out that doing so would kill natsu, so she found a way to make herself the host of the end book so Natsu could kill zeref and still live. And she kept this a secret because she didn't want anyone to worry and make Natsu feel like hes indebted to her

Except all she did was sever the link. The book disappeared when Zeref died still.

OMG, I've been thinking the same thing! My theory is that after Lucy "rewrote" the book, she became the author. This means all the conditions now aply to her. For example, if she dies, so does natsu. Now the book disappeared, but I think it might have simply changed form. Since its magic we're talking about, the reason all the demons came from books could be because zeref was a scholar. If it changed form to fit its author, it could have turned into a key. Or natsu himself subconsciously changed it to a key because he knew that only a celestial wizard contracted with the said spirit (in this case, END) key can use it. Basically, preventing END from returning by acedient or by others. An even more out there theory is that natsu knows the book turned into a key considering he felt her rewrite it during his fight with zeref, and that's what he wanted to talk to Lucy about before 100 years but decided not to. Plus, i think it would be entertaining to have natsu ask Lucy to make a contract with him, and it'll end up sounding like a proposal, which would cause them to talk about their relationship and furture together.

I'm surprised that you didn't point out that both Aldoron and Dogramag have confirmed that Natsu is still very much a demon(with Aldoron even stating that his flames will burn the world), which just means that E.N.D. is simply dormant (with Ignia's flames acting as a catalyst to briefly awaken it). Best bet is that Ignia is going to take note of Lucy's connection to Natsu and try to kill her to force Natsu to realize his full potential. He's already advocated for this idea when they first met, so it's the most likely scenario.

I think the demon and dragon seeds exist and we may have seen them disappear but they didn't literally disappear, Natsu hid them inside his world and controlled them and cancelled the growth of the two seeds

Demons from the books of Lucy is a great what if scenario for a videogame. Especially if it means we can get Michelle/Imitacia/Gonzalez back. It's a fun theory regardless because Lucy transferring ownership from Zeref to herself would have been the fastest and easiest solution, and Drogmorag said Natsu still smells like a demon.

But Erza had already calmed Natsu down in E.N.D mode in Alvarez, so it makes no sense to say that the fact that Lucy calms Natsu down means that she owns E.N.D, when someone in the past had already managed to calm Natsu down without having to interact with the book.

It makes sense for Lucy to tie her life force with Natsu so that he won't die when Zeref bites the dust. As Zeref tied his life force to all Etherious so that they won't cause major mayhem after passing on.

I do have a doubt, Zeref said the book was in demonic language, then how was Lucy able to understand and rewrite it? I can understand she filling in the parts that were missing when natsu got wounded as she might have noticed those letters while trying to read and memorized it. But how did she write the memories part. I am an anime only so I am just curious if this was directly or indirectly stated some where in the manga. I liked your theory though it was quite interesting. Glad to see videos that talk about Fairy tail in depth.

I agree. That’s a theory that’s been going on for years. Except since the book disappeared, I don’t think it’ll ever reappear again. But it’s believed that the body link magic between it and Natsu got transferred over to Lucy after she messed with it. Which would make her and Natsu connected. But Mashima probably wouldn’t explore that.🫠

So heres my view on this. E.N.D and natsu both care about Lucy. Thats why E.N.D woke up in the first place when natsu thought lucy died. Its because both of them care for her. So it stands to reason if something puts lucy's life in danger and nearly kills her again. E.N.D will wake up again

Theory crafting: Farsi can create demons, and Ignia unlocked dragonization magic. What if after their fight Faris convinces him to join her and Faris reveals Natsu in E.N.D. It doesn’t seem like Ignia knows this. And then they use their powers in Natsu at the same time and he goes ballistic.
