This is a brief explanation for "LIFE": Everything, both visible and invisible, is what most persons call "God". God is One Reality but just as a knife cannot cut itself, God cannot know itself (or at least EXPERIENCE Himself) and so has manifested this phenomenal universe within Himself. Therefore, this world of duality is really just a play of consciousness within Consciousness. Apparently, this phenomenal universe was "created" (within Consciousness) with the initial act (the so-called "Big Bang") and from that first deed, every action that has occurred has been a direct or indirect result of it. Therefore, each of us humans were the result of that initial manifestation. That is the real explanation for "karma" - everything was preordained from the initial spark (or to be more precise, preordained in ETERNITY). Whatever state in which we currently find ourselves is the result of two factors alone - our genetic make-up at conception and our present-life conditioning. Because we are temporarily residing within this dualistic universe, we experience both pain and pleasure, BOTH of which can (and usually does) cause us suffering. Suffering and pain are not the same. There are five kinds of suffering: 1. Guilt 2. Blame 3. Pride 4. Worry/Anxiety 5. Regrets about the past and expectations for the future/Attachment to outcomes These types of suffering are the result of not properly understanding what was explained above, that life is a series of happenings and NOT caused by the individual living beings. No living creature, including us humans, has individual free-will. There is only the Universal, Divine Will at play, acting through every body. The body/mind is simply a biological machine. So now that you understand life and why we are suffering here in this (supposedly) material universe, you are now able to be liberated from all forms of suffering, RIGHT? WRONG! It is imperative to find an authentic spiritual master to assist you to come to the above realization, by slowly undoing your past conditioning. Even if you follow a competent teacher, you may still not come to a full understanding of life but if you are sincere, humble and dedicated, you will definitely find more peace in your daily life (all of which was DESTINED to occur, of course). Peace! 🙏 The World Teacher

I read many of the comments and the replies and came to a conclusion. Prof. Brian Cox is a brilliant scientist and a better teacher, he is able to convey the ideas and points from both sides of a coin, but then give you the information he feels is the potential and correct truth. A true scientist, an amazing teacher, and a beautifully centered realist. Russel Brand is an extremely intelligent person, an intellectual and spiritual scholar, to add an ingenious comedian. He is fast talking, quick witted, and has an agenda...that is what gives watching his podcast appeal. This is not two scientists speaking, it is two almost polar opposite people in spirituality, demeanor, education, and scientific compass having a wonderfully civil and entertaining talk which sparks conversation and thought, breaking down barriers and bringing extremes maybe closer together. Why put one or the other down in any way? Oooh big words and agenda, so what, that’s how we learn and become better humans. I loved this talk, you should check out the Joe Rogan, Russell Brand talk...fantastically entertaining and thought provoking. I've just realised even Russell really needs his version of reality to be real because he didn't study physics, as most people... it' sfinding meaning when it's too late to really understand nature.

This is the best video that I have ever seen on KZbin, two of my favourite people in one video talking about things that I love to hear about. Even though they are so the opposite in so many ways I agree with and believe in both points of view. It is difficult because both points of view conflict within myself quite a lot but both wings belong to the same bird. These two need to have a much much longer discussion, I was actually buzzing watching this lol.

Everyone complaining about Russell need to realize that the name of the show is literally what’s he’s trying to do. He’s trying to get under the skin of his guest so that his guests have an opportunity to answer questions from an “unmasked”, “real” place in their minds rather than do the usual “calculated” regurgitation of information. You butter them up with your POV and stick it to the guest to elicit the “best” answer. It’s more of a conversation rather than a plain interview.

Crazy! I honestly am amazed. Russell's beliefs on consciousness is exactly how I believe. Love, kindness & compassion STOP negativity & anger in it's tracks. I practice this in my daily life. Along with creativity these are my (for lack of a better term) religion. Try it! Next time skips you in line, cuts you off in traffic etc act towards this situation with kindness & compassion. It won't feel right but challenge yourself to it. What you will be doing is making actual change. If live peace & compassion are used consistently on an individual basis it will change our collective environment /system/personal relationships etc. I'm 39. When I was 12 I woke up from a dream with the sentence CONSCIOUSNESS IS AN UNDISCOVERED ELEMENT. Over & over again. I truly believe this. Maybe not an element but it is the key. I think we as humans have underestimated our planet and being human. I see similarities within scientific methods and religion. In order to change our environment we have to stop looking for the why & how & start looking at the here and now. I believe if one needs proof of a God look within & if one needs a justification of heaven look around this planet is beautiful and in my opinion heaven.

" I don't have a personal religion, we don't know the origins of the universe. We are a mystery, and for me, that's enough, fullstop." : Brian Cox. Russell flies into a 3000 word monologue that sounds like he's reading from a thesaurus. This was very interesting to say the least.

yea, but Russell was in the zone 39/40 min in, but most feel to ponder "good" morality with bad results, (like being sued for helping someone), so the majority remains neutral. Is it possible for governing bodies to accept good, helpful positive ideas and innovations without being snuffed out or bought out. I used to be like Brian where the discoveries of science opened a new world of possibilities and a paradise away from the commonplace of life day in and day out. However I don't agree with his believe that we cannot learn anything about our nature and reality from ancient, non-scientific practices and discoveries. Like Russel said, these ancient practices can heal peoples lives in so many ways. In fact, meditation is learning how to silence your mental noise and mental movies in order to stop all suffering, stress , disillusionment , depression and many other ailments. Meditation will change your life in making you more receptive to a greater bandwidth of consciousness such as intelligence, creativity, compassion and wisdom. I hope to see here many more excellent and insightful conversations like this one. Thank you!

I really liked this Interview, thank you Russell Brand x There's a few things I felt Brian Cox was appearing to ignore, being a physicist- 1.) There is no such thing as time, so how is this time on earth temporary? 2.) Energy cant be created or destroyed, so how can the universe end, if energy cant be destroyed? 3.) Physics has proven that even if a hydrogen atom, or any atom for that matter, moves on the other side of the universe, our bodies and everyones body will feel that movement, only very very very slight, as our atoms and all atoms are connected. He did speak about point 3.) Explaining that our world is unusual where the atoms interact with each other. However our science has discovered that all atoms interact, I feel Brian Cox is a nice man however he is limited by his knowledge, and scientific dogma. Thank you Russell, for encouraging a different thought. X

I thought the whole point of the conversation was that they approached the same subjects from two distinctively different points of view / backgrounds. How would you see Brand "diving into science more"?
@allsop917 жыл бұрын
If you know you've got Brian Cox coming on, would you not read up a little so you could dive into his work? He's sat across from one of the great minds of our time. There's also a difference between 2 people coming from different points of view and discussing, like I said, it seemed like they were having 2 separate conversations.
@BeyondSideshow7 жыл бұрын
If I was going to discuss his work, then obviously I'd do a whole lot of research... But that didn't seem to be the point here? Well. Sure, it could have been better, like most things. But I'd rather have this than an hour of Russell Brand trying to wrap his head around science. To me it gets quite interesting around the 40 minute mark, as the differences in their fundamental world views (and the differences of logic vs philosophy etc) begin to emerge. edit: Damn, Brand is actually making a great point! :)

This is the kind of conversation we need, controversal but respectful although each of the two is enthousiastic about his massage. What a wonderful conversation. An example to all of how people with seemingly differing worldviews can come together and with mutual respect hold a discourse that honours both views and finds similarities that can be celebrated. So many comments from viewers concentrate on who is better between the two, who is right, who spoke better, who debated better, who 'owned' the other - why must we do that? As if these men are somehow combatants when in actuality they are two beautiful souls navigating the same waters but having a different experience. Surely the lesson here from both these men is that the only thing we do know for sure is the knowledge that we do not know for sure, and therefore all speculation on creation and the universe is worthy, whether it be religious or scientific, whether it be that matter creates consciousness, or consciousness creates matter. What's matters is we keep our minds open to all the possibilities of nature, the universe and everything... and love each other. :)
