I love my Godox AD-200 and V1. Recently I became a Neewer affiliate so I am learning more about them, IMO they seem to be a cheaper version of Godox.. I'm not sure yet. I've shot professionally for 40 years so it takes an old dog like me a while to make changes! lol .. Love the video!

Thank you very much for your short but very helpful review. You helped me make the right choice because my wife is a very active strobist and doesn't have time to wait for the flash to cool down (LOL).

Yeah the Neewer will slow you down if you are firing a lot of flashes

I know this video is a year old but your experiences are completely different than mine. I've used the newer for the last 3 years. The ad200 for the last 8 months. I've never had the Neewer overheat, didn't know that was a thing. Also, never once have I ever reset the Neewer. Since I got the ad200, I've used that more than the Neewer but only because I like using the bare bulb options which the newer doesn't have. I never noticed why difference in speed. I wonder if you got a bad one (the Neewer)

There is a v2. The earlier Q3's had an overheating problem and may have had a color cast issue. I'm guessing his is the old version. I recently bought into the neewer system because i got a great deal on the QPRO-C, and the NW665 flash. I'm not happy with the number of their offerings with HSS, however. Basically the Q3 and Q4. The Q300 would be a good option if for a basic portable strobe without HSS or TTL as a second or third flash. I picked up the S101-300W PRO studio strobe (not portable), and didn't realize it doesn't support HSS. It supposedly supports TTL but I can't get it to fire from my camera shutter with the QPRO. Overall Neewer is an unpolished version of Godox. I'm thinking of selling everything and going with the XPRO-C, the AD200, and eventually one of their HSS strobes.

You can't remove the head or combine the Neewer flashes in a bowens mount which is a massive deal breaker. Sticking with Godox until they change that.

Is the battery compatible with both products?

Just wondering if you had the “2nd version” of the Q3?

Is that neewer trigger compatible with the vision 5 as well?

I have a Godox trigger, can you use this on this Neewer flash?
@harambesminion9266 Жыл бұрын
From what I’m aware of, you can’t. The only other brand the Godox trigger works with, from doing KZbin research, is Flashpoint, which is essentially just different branding on Godox equipment sold by Adorama.

how fast are you shooting portraits?

There doesn't seem to be a perfect flash if you are a Sony user. The Godox Ad200 has advantage of bare bulb option and nice new small trigger called x3. Problem is off camera ttl does not work if you use a wide open aperture of more than f4. The Neewer I don't own but it's cheaper and the off camera ttl seems to work on Sony. If only the Neewer had bare bulb I'd probably switch.

Why would you rapid flash doing Portrait or Real Estate photography. I've been a Pro Photographer for over 20+ years.. Rapid shooting is for Sports, Wildlife or Fast moving subjects. In which 9 times out of 10 do not require a strobe flash.. I've had the Neewer Q3 system for 3 years now without cracking a screen.. There is a New trigger for the Q3 it's the Q3 Pro.

My neewer q3 had it's battery die after 12-15 uses...only neewer makes battery...is 60 dollars...I cannot afford that so I am suck with a q3...what a waste of my money.

Get a battery from AliExpressZ typically it’s 20-30% less than Amazon or eBay
