Actually, the X1 support rear curtain sync too. On the godox Chinese site, they have the methods on different camera systems. On Nikon, you dont need to do anything, just set your camera to rear curtain sync, it will just work. On Canon, you need to set the Fn 04 to on in the trigger menu, and it will work when your shutter speed is in between 1/30 to 30 sec.
@dannyswinnen99424 жыл бұрын

Those are nice. I have to say the pocket wizard to me is one of the better triggers. I still have the TT5 version because it's a work horse. It just won't stop working. Paired my TT5S with the TT1 and the AC3 zone controller. The zone controller is one of the quickest devices for controlling the flash output in 1/3 increments by turning a dial that is easy to read. I can turn the dial without taking my eye off the subject. It's just simple. The LCD screens are nice, but making quick adjustments for lighting output will take longer navigating through the menu. Good review though.

The features and ergonomics of the X2T-f are nice. On the down side, and this is a BIG downside, it eats batteries. That means I have to change batteries when the battery level drops to 70 or 80%. Not great at all. I alwayscarry fresh NiMh batteries. The issue that very often, much too often, the thing stops working, you realize you're missing pictures, and you have to pause an change batteries. I have two of these so this isn't an anomaly. A fatal flaw I'm afraid.

The X Pro trigger is by far the best one. That said it's a bit daft that you can only use 5 groups max with any of the battery powered godox units. The mains powered lights have 16 groups. You can work around it by using some of the Godox usb receivers in the additional lights but surely they could allow 16 groups in the battery powered lights?

Thanks for the comparisons and review. In some Amazon descriptions of the X2T it seems to suggest it has TCM function. Also on p47 of the X2T manual it possibly suggests it has it but is a little ambiguous. It lists it there asking l among the technical specifications but isn't completely clear whether it has it or not as it doesn't say "Yes" but tells you what TCM does. I know there certainly isn't an external TCM button like on the XPro. Can you confirm whether the X2T does or does not have TCM function even as one of the internal menu options as per p47 of the manual? Or is it only the XPro with that function? Thanks.

While the Nikon system is working flawlessly, I have a problem with the Canon R5, where the lights are not responding at all. Both lights are working fine when I'm using the remote's test, but when I'm pressing the shutter, the pictures are taken, but the lights are not flashing. What I'm doing wrong? Should I modify something in the camera menu? The Lights are both set in channel 1, group A and B, respectively. Using precisely the same settings, Nikon D850 doesn't have any issue controlling the lights... I simply can't understand what's going on... Any ideas?

This pro version looks very similar to Westcott remote. Are the compatible? Can you trigger a Westcott strobe with the Godox remote?
@hypop2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, you wouldn't be able to trigger a Westcott strobe with a Godox trigger unless you also had a Godox receiver plugged into the strobe via sync port. If you did this though you won't be able to control your strobe from the trigger which is why its best to match up your trigger with your strobe brand. Long term it's best to choose one brand and stick with it - same as choosing your camera brand of choice and building up on lenses and support gear. It's common for some people to end up completely selling or moving on with their older gear and starting fresh with a brand of their choice.
@davefoc2 жыл бұрын
@@hypop Thanks for the reply. I was just talking with my wife about that tonight. It would be nice if there was more compatibility between manufacturers, but obviously the major camera manufacturers don't agree. I have Canon cameras and I thought when I bought my next camera it would be a Canon as well. I won't buy a Canon while they're blocking third party lenses.
@davefoc2 жыл бұрын
Thanks again for the reply. I got my new Godox flash yesterday. I've been using it for awhile and it is working very well. The remote is more different than I realized from the Westcott unit. There were things I liked better and there were some things that I didn't think were as good as the Westcott unit. I did like the larger display on the Godox unit and I liked the fact that Godox uses replaceable batteries. Two things that made it so that I didn't get it working right away: 1. You turn the Westcott unit on by pushing down on a button . :) I did a lot of button holding down before I realized the power switch was on the side of the Godox unit 2. I think of Slave mode as the mode where a flash is slaved to another flash via an optical sensor. So I didn't think a flash would need to be slave mode to be controlled by a remote. Everything worked great when I put the flash into slave mode. All of the problems I had were my fault and might have been eliminated if I had read the directions.

X1 trigger supports the off-camera HSS? I couldn't work it out. Is there any setting I have to change to use HSS on off-camera HSS? Thank you in advance.

X1 does support off camera HSS. You need to hit the HSS button. Ensure your flash is also HSS compatible.

Hi, do you know if these triggers are compatible with Canon Mirrorless cameras such as EOS R6 and R? Thanks
@hypop2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they're compatible. Godox release firmware updates incase some of the camera brands get tricky and block third party accessories / flashes.
