This is a wonderful video. I have never used a remote flash before and didn't have a clue how to do it, but this video was really clear and I got it to work. I also didn't know that you could mix and match equipment for different makes of camera. Many thanks for spending time to make this video.

Thank you for taking the effort to make such a good video on the Godox X3 flash trigger. I agree about the orientation of the buttons especially when Godox had changed the orientation of the X1T deliberately to the left side on the X2T as well as the XPro triggers. Many be there will be a X3-II or X4 to fix the orientation. Size is the most attractive feature to me as an event photographer who is looking to carry a smaller bag on location. Godox make this touch screen module for the Godox user to get used to the touch screen functionalities so I can only imagine that more of the newer products will come with them to compete with their competitors; however, for on camera flash I am not sure how functional it would be when waring gloves in the cold weather condition.

I thought I would have zero interest in this, but decided to watch it to support you. But with the size of the device this could be fantastic when you don’t want to carry a flash on your camera and just keep it in your pocket. And the trigger is so small it doesn’t interfere with you on the camera.

Another reviewer used several guitar picks to open his, and found the battery has a connector to make it replaceable without any soldering. Not that anybody will be selling the exact batteries when that's needed, but Lithium Ions are pretty much a standard voltage, so at least there's that.

The controls being on the right side is a real head-scratcher. I’d be tempted to crack it open and see if I could mod it with a dremel. Otherwise, I want one! Does it have a quick way to turn groups on and off while retaining their power settings?

Hi friend, I recently bought this x3 equipment to use my two Godox flashes, both have ttl and I use my Fuji xh2 camera, everything works correctly and when shooting in M mode they work, if I put the ttl mode and shoot with my camera they do not work, however when pressing the flash test button they also act correctly, do you know what could be the problem that being in TTL and focusing my camera the flashes do not act? They only work in manual mode, thank you very much friend
@RobTrekАй бұрын
Off the top of my head, I'd check three things. Make sure you are in mechanical shutter mode. Watch your shutter speed. You may need to put the flash in HSS mode. Finally, turn off auto-iso and set it to 125 or 200. Let me know if that worked. -Rob

Hi, as I am into real estate photography, I am mainly concerned about one thing: Nobody mention it, is the "square" icon at the bottom middle clickable? Does it "pause" the controller so the camera thinks there is no flash attached? Is there a way to make camera think there is no flash attached apart from turning off and on the controller (pain in the a..). I need that to be able to tell if exposure for e.g. windows is correct or not...
@RobTrek2 ай бұрын
The square icon just indicates that no power adjustment has been applied globally to all groups. To turn off individual groups, swipe down to bring up a grid where you can turn them off one by one. Typically you only have one flash per group.

Do you know whether it is possible to use HSS when triggering the flash wirelessly with the X3? I have a Godox V1 and the X3, both for Sony. HSS works fine when the flash is mounted on the camera, but when triggered with the X3, the HSS setting on the flash defaults back to front curtain as soon as the wireless mode is set to RX/SLAVE. Very frustrating. Thank you for this very helpful video!

So since you put it on an Olympus at the end even though it's Nikon does that mean it will work with non Nikon? So would Canon communicate with the Olympus as well? Would TTL still work across brands?
@RobTrek5 ай бұрын
It will work on any brand camera with a few limitations. Specifically, no TTL or HSS. So you'll have to work in full manual. Also, the trigger will go to sleep after 30 seconds, so you have to wake it up each time for it to fire the flash. It's best to get a matching trigger. But if you have multiple brands of cameras, it's easy enough to work around those limitations.

hello I have a question about this trigger. Adorama store sells these products with different name, it calls Flashpoint and BHphotvideo sells with this name Godox X3. my question is , i have two flashpoint lights from Adorama one of them is godox AD200 PRO which in my case calls Flashpoint eVOLV 200 PRO AND Godox AD400 again in my case Flashpoint XPLOR 400 PRO. i bought from BH godox x3 trigger so i am curious will it work without any problem with Flashpoint lights which are basically the same product but branding standpoint different name

The Godox X3 doesn't work with non-Godox flashes.

It is my understanding that you would need a Godox X1R-C receiver to attach to your Canon EL-5. Canon's wireless system is not even remotely compatible with anyone else's.

Has anyone figured out why TCM gives out random numbers instead of the actual TTL flash output used?
@RobTrek29 күн бұрын
I'm not having this issue. I need more detail to see if I can recreate the problem. What shooting mode, iso setting, shutter, aperture, sync speed, minimum sync speed. -Rob
@emmdod28 күн бұрын
@RobTrek shooting mode manual, 200th speed, ISO 1600, aperture F6.7, TTL normal without exposure increments, I take a photo and it looks good, I press TTL on screen and get the value to be used (e.g. 1/4), take a photo and it's very over exposed.
@RobTrek28 күн бұрын
@@emmdod I was able to reproduce the problem to a lesser degree. Go into the settings menu, touch on the TCM icon, swipe to turn TCM on by selecting the correct flash model you are using off-camera. The v860, v1, tt350, use the flash icon. For ad200, select 200j, and so on. Let me know if that worked. -Rob
