Godrevy Point Lighthouse Cornwall

Godrevy Point Lighthouse in Cornwall on a half term break in October for the second consecutive year, this time a flying visit on the way back from a day out stopped off to try and capture sunset at Godrevy.

We managed to avoid the worst of the weather to be honest but it did chuck it down later that evening, i should have set up on rocks as i did not see the tide come in that far , was some different compositions down there but i know for next time ! Only been here twice and both times the weather was not playing ball but I guess that helped with the atmosphere , it's a great coastline all along the south west coast !

What a spectacular location Lee! I had never heard of this place before but it is now on my bucket list! WOW! Some really incredible shots in this one. I think my two favourites were the very first image at 1:32 because of the moody clouds with just a tad of blue sky and the image at 5:32 for the texture in the water and just an outstanding composition!, love the balance of the lighthouse being left of center. I've never made it to the south of England, always stayed up north mainly, but I would definitely make a trip down there to see this spectacular location! Great video mate and fantastic images, really enjoyed this one!

Thanks mate, if your ever able to Cornwall has some stunning coastline really rugged , some very narrow roads and small coastal towns all add to the charm of the area. Cornish pasties and cream teas ! The first image was taken from the rocks on the beach , I wanted to stay and shoot from here but just wasn't sure how far the tide came in , I know now it doesn't come right in and I could have stayed, oh well have to return again, third time lucky maybe!

Wow...the image at 05:34 is spectacular! It's funny that I always feel without 'good' weather I won't get a good photograph but the light just before or just after a storm can really make for an atmospheric image.

The weather looked like it was picking up a fair bit Lee, I think I would have been planting them spikes in as far as I could ! Some nice image... my fave being the long exposure towards the end. Cornwall is a place I have only visited once but I can see why it's a fave of many. atb Al
