Good video encouraging people to learn! Doing small improvements is an excellent way to start. I preach going slow, taking breaks and if you drink while porting don’t go too far. 👍

I like how easy you made removing the valve stem seals look.

everyone always says stay away from the floor of the exhaust ports, just throwing it out there I removed quite a bit of material out of the floors and all I can say is if you do it right it makes a hell of a difference.

You can use steel carbines on aluminum just spray em with penetrateing oil or dip em in engine oil they won't clog like that and if they get alil clogged hit em with a wire brush and spray em again

I was told you need a little roughness in the intake ports not to polish them
@esp68camaross332 жыл бұрын
The roughness on the intake helps with the mix of air and fuel. Gm did a great job on the ls head design. I'd hog out the exhaust ports and polish only.
@roberttrevino41842 жыл бұрын
@@esp68camaross33 yes I knew that also know on exhaust side you can polish the he'll out of it
@GODSPEEDGarage2 жыл бұрын
exactly what he said... i did leave the intake a little rougher, but I'm running a turbo on this, so that also changes things.
@kolourblind3124 Жыл бұрын
@@GODSPEEDGarage turbo definitely changes things! Not the head flow characteristics however lol so any improvements you made to the heads will definitely be a measurable improvement but not noticeable especially at that level of power with a turbo. As far as head flow characteristics you should leave the short side radius of the intake port ruff with like a 60-80 grit for better fuel atomization. Thanks for making this video! Great job

Some flow numbers would be helpful.
@baylymiley2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it? but that cost money and when you're porting your own heads obviously spending money on unnecessary thing isn't in the budget. I'd guess you can't expect much more than 15-25cfm. Great working anyway GG the real satisfaction is in know you did it yourself.

Without them one has no idea if they are hurting or helping the cause All that polishing does nothing but make thing shiny 0 gain
