AGIM was one of the most transforming books I've ever read. It captured the feeling of arrest common to anyone trying to live the moral life today and made me feel understood in a way no other book ever has

I really love that the sense of tradition is not a dead extrinsic idea, but that it is something that the count embodies and uses to shape his circumstances, even as the trappings of those same traditions are taken away from him over the course of the novel.
