My dad has a 'full karen' mode. We call it "Call Germany" mode. No, this is not a WII joke. When he and my mom got married, they bought a truck. This truck broke down, wouldn't switch out of first gear. Takes it to the Mechanic. A week later, they say it's fixed but it still won't switch out of first gear. Cost about $300 (About $1,100 now) and this repeats two more times. Well, on the fourth time, they keep the truck longer. Dad is pissed off. Talks to the mechanic. Then the owner. "Well, my part guy hasn't been able to get it for us." "Okay, call the place you get the parts from." The owner calls the parts place. "I'm sorry, we don't have that part currently." "Where does?" "Nowhere around here." "Who do you get the part from?" "Germany." "Call Germany." They ended up getting the part about three days later, and it remains my family's threshold for "How likely are you to become a Karen here?" which leads to a lot of fun conversations.

I remember one time I went to a restaurant and the meal I ordered had a band-aid in it. And when I informed the server they offered to make me the same meal. I actually wanted another meal (pricier) from the menu. And the server started giving me shit. All I said was to take the first meal off my order and I would pay for the other one no problem. Realized that there was a chance he was going to just take the band aid out of my pasta and just give me the same plate. The manager ended up coming by and gave our whole meal for free. I work at a cafe in Target, and let me tell you that Karens are more common than you think. I get at least several of them a week, and that's not even counting the ones who are just sort of rude (which are at least half of the customers I get daily). One of the worst Karen experiences I've had was around two weeks ago. This one middle-aged lady walked up to front counter where I was at and tried to interrupt me while I was scanning someone else's drink. I told her I'd be with her in a minute, but I didn't pay attention to what she was saying after that. After I was done, I (reluctantly) walked up to the lady asking her if she needed help with something. She started bitching about how her hot dogs were "too old," which was total BS because they looked completely fine. I asked her if she had a receipt, and she said no. I really wanted to say to her, "dude, if you don't have a receipt, I don't know any other way you can get your money back, especially since my coworker helped you pay for your hotdogs and not me," but I decided to be nice and say something like, "You would have to go to Guest Services for that" just to politely shrug her off (I don't get paid enough to deal with that BS). She started demanding to see the girl who rang her up for her hotdogs (AKA my coworker/friend), but I lied and said she was on her lunch break, hoping she wouldn't figure out she was just washing dishes in the back room. Then she threw her hotdogs at me. I couldn't do/say anything back because I'd risk losing my job and Target really wants their employees to suck up to the customers, so I passive-aggressively shook my head at her and even at my coworker who was watching the entire thing. TLDR: A Karen threw hotdogs at me in a fit of rage.

My blood sugar was high, so like a common courtesy I went to the dressing room and asked to go in and take a shot of insulin to help my sugar go down. I was told no, mind you this is during when covid was getting bad but not bad enough to close stores yet. I went to another employee and they told me the same. Mind you I explained my situation in detail and said I would only take a sec to do what I wanted to do. Finally after talking to the second employee I asked for the manager. I talked to the manager and the manager just gave me such a bs excuse why I couldn't use the changing room for a medical reason. And like I explained to the manager i don't care if I didn't have to but would they turn those who are in worse situations away? Pretty much they said no one can use it for non changing purposes. There was a point in time where I was going to a doctor every few months or so because I had started taking anxiety medication and I think they have to monitor you while you take a prescription, so my mom would drive me over to the office, I’d get a check up, and I’d go home. Well, one day I went in the day before my prescription ran out, and I go up to the office while my mom waited in the car. I got to the office, sign in, and then as I hand my card over, the receptionist says “oh, I’m sorry, we changed our insurance coverage, so you’re going to have to pay out of pocket.” I was 19, taking a gap year out of high school, and had no job. I couldn’t afford to pay out of pocket for the visit and a prescription refill. So, panicked, I call my mom up so they can talk it out. Keep in mind, my mom didn’t like this doctor. She would often make us wait for long periods of time before coming to see me, and something about her just rubbed my mom the wrong way. So my mom comes up, they explain the whole insurance thing, and my mom went into a sort of Karen mode. She wasnt rude, she wasn’t mean, but she was firm. She explained that I needed my medication, and that they never notified us of an insurance change (don’t know if they just forgot to email us or if it got lost somehow). So the office itself would be at fault if I didn’t get my prescription. So I ended up getting the refill, and now I see a new doctor who’s very nice and is very supportive of me while also telling me my needs.

*I've never gone karen but best believe I've always gotten my money's worth or fixed a situation without making a scene. It sucks when you're at a business and you know more about the place and the job than the shitty worker who actually works there whether it's a phone store, tech store, etc. Recently had that happen to me at a t mobile store and the employee had no idea what tf they were talking about*

next time to get into the club, they need to try the good guy line (good guy discount). "Look I'm a good guy. I know I'm not... / be on my best behavior ... etc" "I know you're a good guy, from one good guy to another you mind letting me in?"

No lie last week me and my sister waited over fifteen minutes for a single bag of French fries and didn't go Karen, we complained after because they tasted dry and metallic but seriously waiting over 15 minutes, and we were the first people to come in the shop as well

It happened in a stream; he said he wanted to meet a manga author because he believed that some part of the story was kinda trash. Someone said it in the chat as a joke, they boys didn't understand it, and now think that it was out of nowhere. Or at least that's what I remember.

Hi. I’m a gambling addict. I know how casinos work. Bribery WILL get you into a casino, Because there are TWO kinds of people that get rejected from casinos, That being drunk people, And the more likely one in your story, *_Poor people._* If you proved to him that you had money by throwing it away for nothing, That would have proved you had the mindset of a gambler.

I've been known to go full Anti-Karen, but only for a good cause. When I see someone mistreated it just sets me off. I was born with a sharp tongue, a quick mind, and an unfortunate tendency to speak it, but I try to use my Karen powers for good. Be rude and demanding to a waitress? You'll hear from me. Insult a bus driver? Better hope I'm not there. I will not stand by while people who are simply doing their best get abused, especially if race, gender orientation, economic position, or disability are a factor. I'm a middle aged, white women, living a comfortable life. I feel obliged to use that privilege for good.

I've never gone karen because I don't act like a fool. But I have asked for a manager twice in my life. Once was because the chef made my food wrong and gave me something I was allergic to after telling them before hand I can't have it , they threw money at me when I asked for a refund. Second time was when a new employee got mad at me for saying I wasn't interested in signing up for a credit card.

I mean are Karens just people that complain now? I thought it describes people using their previlage to get otherwise innocent people into trouble.

Connor you're never going to get anywhere with a 10er. min is 20p and it's a skill you can lean but you do have to have a certain level of charisma. As "influencers" that should be easy. just strike up a conversation and slip them the money when it feels natural to pass something off to them. Also if they don't go for it either it will be returned under the guise of an accident (if there nice) or that's their tip for checking you in. Either way never expect to see any money you let go of back. Then you just move on. If for some odd reason you meet the odd one that'll be like *cough* *Cough* aka more. don't do it, it's always trouble.

I’ve gone “full Karen” a few times but it’s always been times where myself or whoever I’m with at the time had been dubiously dealt with in an unjust manner, tldr never for no reason. I’m pretty chill but I’m jus also not a pussy, so if ur fucking with us in an egregious manner, I’m gonna stick up for myself. eg; an entertainer made fun of my wife while she was getting food & she came back to our table complaining to me that one of the entertainment staff belittled her. Like wtf? I was damn near bouta beat his fucking ass but the manager came over & explained to us that he thought she was one of his colleagues. If it’s a situation like ur food comes late n there’s not much u can do about it stuff like that that’s fine. But if I’m sitting at a dinner table & my server is being an absolute turd to me cuz he’s have a bad day, I’ll straight up tell him shit like Stop taking it out on me, I literally had nothing to do w ur shit day. They usually clam up n stop being rude after that

I worked at reception for 5 years and another 8 years in customer service. I've had unsatisfied customers, but NEVER anyone going full Karen. Why? Because it's my job as a service clerk to have empathy. People only get upset when they feel that you don't understand their problem and you're down playing the issue. So if you deal with a lot of Karens, that means that your customer service is shit. I've gone full Karen mode many times because of clerks not giving my complaint the proper attention and seriousness.
