Going Home - A Cycling Documentary

Last Summer, I and my friend have decided to go on a bikepacking trip through the Balkans.
We have managed to cycle 1578km in 16 days.
After a failed bikepacking trip attempt in 2022 because of the virus, we’ve decided to go even bigger in 2023. I bought us two plane tickets from Vienna to Niš, Serbia.
This trip took us through the beautiful Serbian countryside, forests on the Serbian-bosnian border, Bosnian highlands and the endless fields of Hungary.
Thousands of memories I will never forget.
When editing this movie, I have found a pretty big mistake. All the videos that should have been recorded in 1440p60 were recorded in 1080p30, so the quality is pretty low.
All the music used originates from KZbin Audio Library, or was made by me.

That was really cool, I'm considering doing something similar to this next summer. Were there any unexpected problems? And would you actually recommend doing it?

If you watch the video until the very end, I mention that I am going for a solo 40-day-long tour from Norway this summer. There were quite a lot of problems during the tour, but in the end it was all worth it. But travelling on a bicycle isn't for everyone. It's physically and mentally hard. Also getting the needed gear costed me around 1600€. For me, it was all worth it, but I recommend firstly going for a smaller tour to find out if you actually like this way of travelling.

​@@notthomasjoelI know it isn't for everyone, but I think I might enjoy it because I really like camping and exploring new places but walking around is extremely slow and exploring really random and unique places is harder to do by car/public transport. And I'll go on a few day trip with the stuff I already have these summer holidays, I'll just bike around Czechia (where I'm from:D) Also I know the gear isn't cheap, especially a good bike

The Czech Republic is a good place to start. If you notice that you like bicycle touring I'd recommend Hungary or Slovenia, as you don't need to worry about dogs and you can camp basically anywhere thoughtfree. Perfect for beginners in my opinion :)

@@j3tus15 U dont need an expensive bike for this, for instance Decathlon has great value bikes for the price and good warranty, what I would highly recommend is to learn how to service your bike during the trip if anything happens and take spare spokes, inner tubes, multitool, tire levers.. Anyways there are a lot of videos about this so good luck
