I don't use letterbox so I'm putting reccomendations here. I would reccomend Los Espookys (this one is a spanish show about basically the scooby gang, but like, they work for the bad guys, pretty much), Into The Mouth of Madness (this one is an 80s horror film basically about a horror author's book that causes the end of the world), There's Someone Inside Your House (this one is just a good modern slasher with good diversity in it), and Willy's Wonderland (which is basically about Nic Cage playing a character that's definitely coded as autistic killing a bunch of evil animatronic animals in a haunted Chuck E Cheese knockoff. Like Five Nights at Freddy's.)

Thank you for showing us this side of you...for me, personally, I don't feel quite so alone...in this lonely ass world. 2022 a lot of things have happened to put me in this mode of "art? why bother?! you're not good at it anyway!" ....so it's more of a lifeblock than just an artblock, for me....but that's neither here nor there. Good luck on your journey out of artblock and into happiness!

I can totally relate. I lost 50 pounds in college and 20 years later it’s all back plus more. It’s very discouraging. It’s hard to find motivation. But I’ve recently lost 16 pounds and I’m already feeling better. Just remember exercise is good for our mental health too. 🙂

THE HAIR!!!! The color gradient + texture!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!💕💞💘 The only thing getting me through art block is developing a deeply. unhealthy. obsession. The most improvement I've seen in my art is when I was basically living in some video game or TV show for 8 consecutive months.

Well done my dear! I am glad you checked in, you have been in my prayers. You are quite brave to share your troubles and your encouragement. This latest work is quite an extraordinary take on the three faces which appear in several world mythologies, most impressive. A word on larger people on skates: go for it! After some hard times my 6’5” uncle Bill found himself at about 500 pounds. To regain his health, he took up roller skating, and within two years he was fast, graceful and fit! No, he never became rail thin, but he lived a much longer, happier life. Plus, it was a way for him to take all us kids along, giving my mother, grandmother and aunt some well needed breathing room once a week! I am overjoyed that you too are giving yourself that time, that breathing room away from your inner space. Peace.

I relate so much to the “changed my physical environment but it’s not like I wanted it to be and now I feel stuck and can’t use it.” And didn’t realize that was the problem I was having until you mentioned your desk. Thank you for sharing that. At least now I can focus on what it is about my space that’s jangling my nerves, instead of berating myself for being so mysteriously unproductive.

You're describing my life to me rn! I frequently get new stuff, get all exited, sets everything up correctly, and then... NOTHING turns out the way I hoped. I like the expression "creativity is what you do, not who you are" (or something like that?). I mean this in the best way possible - Noone expects you to have all the answers. If anything, if you're ever unsure or want someone to discuss with, you can always turn to "us" and openly ask for our thoughts and feedback. I have no idea how many "art friends" you have around you, but I know that isolation has at least hit me hard. There's no need find all the answers alone. The best thing we can do as fellow artists is to support each other as much as possible. Idk, perhaps you need to remove your hands from the steering wheels for a while (e.g. joining an artist's "drawing date" on patreon)? or the complete opposite (e.g. some kind of "project")? I'm glad to hear that you're doing your best to stay active! It can really do a lot. Oh, and don't worry! Your new studio equipment will still be there and yours to enjoy when you're back on track! If you ever need financial support to remove the pressure of 'creating', perhaps you could look into "buy-me-a-cup-of-coffee" or something like that? Cheers!

My daughter introduced me to your channel. Love. I don't know what I love more: your gorgeous use of color or your adorable personality. I often think that the thing we call creative block isn't that at all. Instead, it's like REM sleep: deep, essential, and reinvigorating. Art blocks are so frustrating 😩 sometimes when I go thru one, I’ll go through my old artwork and try to recreate it to make it better. I think it makes sense that you got art block right after taking part in that youtube collab. Even though it wasn't a full blown piece there was a lot of pressure there and you put a lot of creative energy into making sure your contribution was worthy (and you really delivered btw). Whenever I do a piece of art that feels more "legit" or something I often get this barrier to starting/finishing my next piece. I genuinely love your content and will be here waiting for the next vid even if it takes a few more months. Love ya!!

Put away the pastels and paint. Put away paper. Get some craft kits, kiddy kits. Cross stitch, rock painting, melt some crayons on a rock. Whatever. Get away from your usual art forms. So something where you have no outcome in mind or even know what it’s supposed to look like. Things where you don’t have to think about it a lot and just do. After a bit you may feel like ooooh this give me an idea. I’d like to try more of this etc. Just shut the pastel box for a bit and take some time apart. You will love them more when they start calling from their box for your fingers

I really appreciate how you're willing to be so open in your videos and content. It's really refreshing to actually feel a human connection with someone BEING HUMAN instead of forcing themselves to be a "influencer" or some other such nonsense. As for art block, for me, the thing that helps most is actually practicing my fundamentals. Doing things like still life drawings where I can practice my values, techniques, framing, etc. Do some little thumb nails for myself to practice color relations, etc. Nothing that would produce a finished work, just practice. Often times, as I'm doing these, I'll start getting ideas in my head. Also, I'm a big dude who USE to roller skate and skateboard, but I had to give it up do to RA impacting some old injuries ☹️

My advice when anyone is in a block, is to give up for a bit, put down everything, let yourself forget it WITHOUT GUILT, and go find something else to do that captures your attention. It sounds like you’re already doing that with the skating and gym which is good. if you still need to “create” I suggest acting or making skit videos (you’re a funny lad, Bean, some of us are here for the personality and zaniness more than we are for the art). My instinct is to tell you to do horror movie reviews (we know you love them - ffs, I typed this BEFORE you talked about this in the vid, great minds🤣). Look at “the new bee” reviews, I feel like you could easily do similar but with a unique “you” spin. And maybe do a few livestreams, connect with your audience for a sort of live movie discussion group - I think you audience would have fun and as you said, you adore talking about movies (me too!) it might be right up your alley to bounce opinions back and forth. It’s okay to take breaks. I stopped at Covid start and JUST got back again. Sometimes the breaks rekindle it, refresh it. Hope you find something good that feeds your soul (and your bank balance). Ps. You ever seen “dog soldiers”? It’s a British werewolf film, I think you might enjoy it. 😘

I have art block too. I think my art block comes from people asking me to do something that I don’t want to do. Certain pieces do not inspire me and block me from doing things that I wanna do.I also second guess my abilities 🤷🏻♀️

I bought acrylic paint and watercolor paper in the beginning of summer and have been in a big art block since. I think this is the worst one yet. But i can’t even do other crafts i try.
