The Furch Vintage series are extraordinary guitars. Old school looks and design available in Parlor, OM and Dreadnought designs.
Available in version 1, 2 or 3. The greater the number the more elaborate the cosmetic detailing.
Version 1 which I show here is the simplest in styles but affords you a World Class dreadnought tone in a simple yet beautiful package.

I was yesteray on Furch workshop here in prague with adrian bellue. very cool, very cool guitars from the masters choice series. i am planning the factory tour in the summer, they should have their museum and showroom set up. also its in the middle of moravian carst, beatifull countryside. in case you have few more days to spare in czech republic, just ask for tips, and of course, enjoy our beer .

Hi Richard, If you hadn't mentioned anxiety I really would not have noticed, and I can be paralysed with nervousness . So well done. Also, I picked a pre-unloved Furch from 2005. Dings all over and bad neck break with an even worse repair job. But inspecting the wood and the beautiful machine heads (and my little hum into the sound hole when nobody was looking) I felt that I was rescuing a puppy. I have left it with a Luthier to fix the neck and then the rest is up to me. Have fun in the Czech Republic. Thanks for a great vid.Eoin

Watched Dave Simpson play a Furch on his channel a few days back and it was fabulous - a tone to die for and Dave was suitably taken with it. First time I had paid any attention to the brand (smart marketing on their part to send one to him for review) and it's definitely at the top of my list of aspirational acoustics now. In his skilled hands it produced the kind of music that any acoustic player would be proud of. Check it out. You seem to sell all of the very best stuff Richard !

John North, Dave did an awesome job of demoing that guitar. He is a truly great player and inspires me every time I watch him play. With the Furch in his hands it helped me shake the desire for a Taylor or Gibson at 4-5 times the price. 👍

@@jimmyjimmy951 You made a very wise decision to aim for a Furch over a Taylor or Gibson, Jim. Furch have way better quality control than those big name brands. They're not only cheaper, they're all round better.

Curious to learn about their building techniques, particularly the soundboard voicing they do. Every Furch I've tried and heard is incredibly open and resonant. Proud to own 2 now :)

during the workshop, peter said its partially mechanized, and tested not only by tapping, but by mesurement. i suppose this way, they are able to do it faster , than boutiques, so cheaper. and i am proud i own my first one for about two weeks and i started to save for some SR piece.

Hello Richard, sounds like a great project and journey! I do have one question. I heard Petr Furch mention in a video that their bracing technique involves applying "loads" and that as a consequence the guitars cannot be reverse engineered by simply taking measures. I wonder if this affects the possibility of repairing the guitars in cases where the top, or in particular the braces, happen to require some tlc. I'd be very interested to know what you and/or the luthiers at Furch think about the subject...

I came here to see the info on Furch and while watching... in a state of anxiety as that is what I suffer from!....I was thinking how healthy and strong you looked and thought how nice it must be just to get on a plane and go away and do what you want without stress and then you mentioned YOUR anxiety issues! What a weird coincidence but more importantly another lesson that anxiety is everywhere and so many people are dealing with it in various forms. All I can say is well done for being able to talk about it and I wish you all the best! Lately I have found cannabis oil helps and also a new technique called Havening which you can read about online.

I too suffer from anxiety mate. If it starts to get to you just focus on breathing properly, in and out, nice full breaths, it really helps to completely fill and empty your lungs a few times.

Hi Richard, Three things. I hope your trip abroad will go well. I can fully understand your anxiety but I’m sure you will have a rewarding experience. Secondly I’m interested in hearing the Firch Blue Plus Sw om against the vintage one or two. Lastly although the blue plus is shipped with a clear pick guard, would it be possible to order it with a normal tortoise shell one? Kind regards and fingers crossed.

clearly they value your opinion richard. Can I just say and I hope u don't mind this?my uncle who had a very stressful job as a health inspector had some awful times through stress and whilst he's now retired we never thought he'd ever go on a plane but he's recently done it and he's booked again,can't tell you what a big thing this was for him.should add that he's the last person on Earth who you'd of thought would ever suffer from nerves and breakdown. Furtch guitars are something else,noticed Tony Polecastro is now on board in the U.S. which has got to be a good thing.

Wow what a fantastic opportunity, and I also suffer with anxiety btw . One question I have is , how do I transition to acoustic guitar after playing electric for decades ? I bought a Yamaha F310 from a friend years ago and it's neck is really uncomfortable. I wish I could have an acoustic guitar with a neck dimensions like my Les Paul , but is that a thing ?

I totally understand your anxiety problems, Richard. I'm a fellow sufferer. This week I have to go to hospital for heart scans and blow tests and such (these are entirely unrelated to my anxiety problems) and I'm not sure I'm going to keeping these appointments purely because because of my panic disorder. I think I can do it, but I know when I wake up on the morning of these appointments I'm going to be full of dread and irrational fear. The tests themselves don't worry me in the slightest, It's more the things like sitting in waiting rooms and all that. You do your trip and and I'll do mine. Deal? Good luck mate.

I bought a Furch 23 SR-c and a Stonebridge 24 CR-c. Will these guitars take middle gauge strings, as well as light Gauge?

Could be that Furch moved away from numbers to colours for the sake of distinctiveness -- other manufacturers use numbers to show how luxurious the decorations and sometimes how rare or expensive the woods used are -- Martin and Lowden, for example, both use different numerical codes and Furch had yet another and the numbers were close together and maybe they thought didn't show the variance in quality between a 20 or 21 and a 24, say. Then again I expect things described as a colour to be that colour, and in Furch's case they obviously aren't.

Hi Richard Hope the trip goes well. 1 question. What is Furch's medium and long term strategy for use of Rosewood on their guitars? With CITES regs really kicking in now I wondered if Furch always sees a place for Rosewood but at a higher cost and therefore price, or are they considering moving to other tonewoods like Siris or Mutenye?

Yep, fellow anxiety sufferer here, so I feel your pain, especially as we both have very stressful jobs (I am a teacher). Have always loved Furch, but like you utterly bemused by their change to colours. They don’t mean anything 😡 Which is their lowest spec! A red, blue, green, pink with white polka dots! I’m no Taylor fan, but at least you know that a 314 is lower spec than an 814.

I must admit I find the Furch marketing confusing. There is almost too much choice and too complicated name structure/conventions. I saw a guitar played by Cormier which I couldn’t match up with their current range and I then went elsewhere: namely Atkin. Obviously there is an awful lot of competition in the marketplace and if I was talking to Furch I would definitely be suggesting they simply the line. Atkin guitars, and obviously others can be related to their Martin equivalents (most know the D18, D28, D35 etc) and whilst I’m not necessarily certain or suggesting that’s the way to go it definitely makes choosing easier.
