Mike, I'm one you don't have to sell the jerk bait to. It's my first bait ever thrown growing up. And have found many retrieves and ways to fish it. But I am always looking for new ways to use it. To be an angler is to never stop learning. Even to the point of it being a top water for those glassy waters.

I can’t wait for the rest of this series! I’m the opposite of Terry. I STRUGGLE with jerkbaits. Don’t remember the last time I caught a fish with one, and believe me, I have put in countless hours trying. I know they are fish catchers so I will continue trying to learn. I have really been enjoying your “Series” videos this year! Your doing a fantastic job with them and they have certainly helped my angling results. Thanks so much.

I think the reason jerk baits are so popular in the winter is that there is (by far) less aquatic vegetation to get snagged on. At least from my point of view here in Delaware. The weed growth is heavier than ever the last 3 years

I still have the Three jerk baits that my grandfather got me in 1978,,, and yes,I caught lots n and lots of large mouth bass with them too... they're the Rapala 1/16 1/8 & 3/16 jerkbaits

I used a suspending jerkbait on New Year's Day in overcast conditions, in late afternoon, about 3 feet water clarity, outdoor temps in the 50's, and absolutely smashed them. I found that the bass were bigger (3-4lb.) the slower I moved it. I was using a XCalibur XEE4, but unfortunately they have been discontinued some time ago. I sure wish I could get these again.

How to you deal with hangups on the bank? I find myself always switching to a soft body jerkbait just to avoid losing my lure

Rapla x rap and all theirs, but lucky craft makes some good ones.... Pointer 110 I wanna try megabass ones too , I got tons of their lures top water and crank, but no mega jerk baits Once saw Zona and Elear leave the bait suspend for 10 mins in really cold water and was catching em !!!!! It was on KZbin. I saw it years ago, so don't go too fast in cold water
