It’s a unique camping experience. It definitely makes for a comfortable evening in the tent! I usually never keep the stove going once I go to bed though. I use to and you have to wake up every couple hours to feed the stove and that’s no fun so I still bring a winter sleeping bag. Being able to warm the tent up in the morning with the stove is also very nice! Appreciate the comment!

I enjoyed this video. I have a similar tent from One Tigris. It doesn't have a stove jack but opens up on the front and the back. At 70 years old hot stove camping wouldn't be good for these sore bones. Lol. But, I do love to watch others do the winter camping. Looks like so much fun. But age has caught up with me. Too many atheletic endevours my whole life did a number on my joints. But, wouldn't have traded it for anything. Hiking and camping was probably the most rewarding outdoor activity I enjoyed most. Great video as always.😊

I believe I have the same tent you are talking about. The One Tigris backwoods bungalow. I absolutely love that tent for camping in the woods 👍. This has that similar baker style design but with the additional doors on the side and the area for the stove. Such comfortable tents! You should get a lav mic. So when you turn your head or do a wide shot (when you are further from the cam) you will still get consistent sound. Pro advice from a film guy. ;) Edit. ok for sure you need a Dundee knife... LOL. and a Michael Jackson silicon glove for the stove

I love this tent! This is the second video that I’ve seen where it’s being backpacked! I didn’t think that was possible. Being a semi-experienced backpacker, I tallied up the weight of some of your items. You’re shouldering quite a lot just from the tent and stove alone. Two cans of liquid brew ha ha, non-dehydrated goods, milk.. (fresh milk?! How are you keeping that cooled?!) At your age and strength probably fairly barely doable but at 50 not for me. I would like to try this on my own while keeping the pack weight to around mid-30 lbs. You’re right about the tent awning poles being too short. I have a comfortable camp chair that makes it so the awning rests on my head. I searched around and found super light weight aluminum collapsible ones that extend out much more than those 4 foot-ish stick ones. Much better clearance! Regardless, I like your set-up and can’t wait to see more with it!

It’s been a great hot tent so far. Any hot tent setup is going to be heavy compared to a normal backpacking trip. I was just extremely happy to be able to fit everything in this pack. Definitely doable though. The key is to find a pack that carries the weight well. This pack feels like magic. Everything‘s actually quite comfortable to carry. I’ve always been very athletic though, so I can’t speak to how it might feel for everyone. That’s something you have to decide for yourself. As for the food, I usually freeze certain items. In the summers I will also freeze water and keep that next to the food. However, on winter camps, it’s not much of a concern. I still really enjoy using my canvas Lavvu but this tent has so many modern features it’s a bit more versatile and can be comfortably used throughout the years. If you’re concerned about weight, you can easily just cut sticks to length for the poles and make your own stakes. They also sell this tent in a 20 D material which is lighter as well 👍. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. ATB

Its a Backwoods Bungalo with a porch added on for the stove. Maybe that big side wall could have a built in tap so you can harvest that rain water you collected ha ha. What do you think about sitting the stove on a flat rock with the legs folded so that the heat goes into the rock making it a thermal heat sink, radiating out longer after the fire has gone out,? From what you were saying it seems like you could put a mesh grill raide up an inch to get seperation between the ash and new sticks
@GoingSoloOutdoors
@GoingSoloOutdoors 9 ай бұрын
Yeah it definitely has that similar baker style design like my backwoods bungalow but much more spacious inside with additional side doors. I’ve used a rock underneath before. Works as a heat sink but not really necessary if your sleeping bag keeps is warm enough when the fire goes out. I haven’t done it yet but at some point I might try putting a small rack on the base to raise the coals. Thanks for watching!
@utubeape
@utubeape 9 ай бұрын
@@GoingSoloOutdoors IThanks for the reply. I was just thinking that when you put a rack in and want the air flow you put a bloack of wood under it at the front to hold it up, then it will just burn down and settle lower naturally as the rest of the wood burns too.

Another inviting video. You make the tent look amazing but reviews say it leaks from the rain and caves in the wind. Did you have any leaks or suspect certain areas might be prone to it? If the wind did pick up it looks like it would push the fabric onto the hot metal of the stove. Do you think that is too easy to happen to risk buying it given how windy the UK is?
@GoingSoloOutdoors
@GoingSoloOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I have also seen previous versions of this tent leak. I can’t speak to those, but this tent, version 3.0 has taped seams and did really well in heavy rain all night. There are additional guy out points on the stove portion of the tent that keeps it stable in the wind. In a dense woodland you also don’t typically deal with ground level wind so that’s not really an issue I’m concerned with either. That being said, I would not camp in any hot tent in a windy open area. For the price I’m pretty happy with the quality of this hot tent so far. It kept me dry and comfortable all night so I can’t complain 👍. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

Aside from the weight savings, its ability to cool down quickly is another huge benefit of a titanium stove. It cools much faster than my old stainless steel stove.
