@@thoronthol1175 I’ve been listening to them since 1999 I was I believe I was 23 24 around that time. And dude! I’ve seen them live atleast 10 times. But, sadly they don’t sound great live they are just alright. 2 years ago show for knotfest they sounded the worst. But I still love them!! I saw them live in 2000 first! It was killer.

@@benluna6158 I saw them about two years ago and I’d have to respectfully disagree. I think they sounded amazing. I also saw them at Knotfest. The best part was when after them, Volbeat came out and everyone started booing them and chanting Gojira lol

Gojira is lyrically incredible as well.. passionate, meaningful, and worth checking out. And Gojira is known for hypnotic repetition in their songs.. not everyone’s vibe, but it sure is mine. I never want their songs to end.

Not my kind of music, but these guys freaking rock. SUPER talented! I wouldn't listen to this on my own, as it doesn't lift my spirits (and I can't understand the lyrics in this style of music), but I sure can appreciate the musicianship. Outstanding in their genre!

You’re not the only one. Even though Joe’s growls are some of the clearest and easiest to understand a lot of people still can’t seem to do it. When i can’t understand him i look up the lyrics and at some point i just start hearing the words myself. Their lyrics often aren’t that uplifting, it’s more about warning people about the things we as humans are doing to the planet and to each other. Sometimes they do something a bit more spiritual and sometimes it’s just a perspective on life. Gojira puts me in a trance every single time and the lyrics fit that

One of the best out there. First time I saw them was in a small venue in Dublin in back in '09 it was so intense. They are an incredible live band. Would you believe they have many songs as good as this and even better than this? A few: Flying Whales, The heaviest matter in the universe, Remembrance, Art of Dying. There's loads more on the albums Mario Duplantier is such a creative and innovative drummer. The band have their own sound

That was the end of this concert. The crowd was probably worn out and tired, lol. The Brixton Academy Performance was a high energy classic from them. I hope you review more from this band, they are absolutely worth your time. Also, they have a new album due to drop April 30th so if you want to get familiar with them before that you have about a week to do it.

Gojira is such a great band, for real. They're probably the best metal band out there right now. If you liked the drumming in this, you have to have to HAVE TO check out Tool performing Pneuma live with the view centered on Danny Carey's drum cam. It's absolutely fucking mindblowing; I promise you won't be disappointed.

I love your Zappa stuff but Gojira is also in a league of their own. And you caught on pretty quick to what this drummer is about :) Pretty much what people recommend here in the reactions but also Toxic Garbage Island, Silvera and their recent stuff Born for One Thing and Amazonia although they're pretty blocky about the new videos.

Super Mario Duplantier. G.O.A.T. metal drummer. The best I've heard in decades. I'm 61 so I've heard a lot of metal. There are very few drummers like Mario. Tomas Haake and Danny Carey are two. Neil Peart is in his own catagory in Prog. rock.
