We love Seiyunchin, and we realised it needed 3 videos to do it justice. Which kata would you like to see next?

I'm an Isshinryu practitioner. Our Seiunchin (from Goju) is similar, but had been modified by our founder. However, I do emphasize many of the physical and philosophical details that you demonstrate. Your presentation is excellent, your students are fortunate.

Ah, what a lovely, lovely comment to recieve! Thank you so much for watching and commenting - it is always so great to hear from our karate brethren in other styles, and sharing our similarities rather than our differences 🙇🏻♀️

Great videos. You should definitely offer tshirts with "Do what your Sensei says!" On them! Haha
@GojuRyuKarateCentre3 жыл бұрын
Oh, but we do have that shirt! grkc.creator-spring.com/listing/do-what-your-sensei-says?product=2 Somehow, DWYSS became the running tagline in many of our videos, and now its a thing! Thank you for the kind words - we hope to see you in the comments again :)

@@GojuRyuKarateCentre ah ok, having checked it out I imagined a bit more to it. Like an uncle sam style caricature of Sensei with the text in a quotation underneath with exclamation.

This wasn't my favourite kata for many years, mostly because I struggled with the nuance of it but starting to really come to grips with the beauty of the kata and all the bunkai within it.

At around minute 15:20 stepping back from the Ura ken, the next movement is a cat stance with the left leg forward, then you show the kata ending with the same cat stance with right leg forward. If following along, is it cat stance with left or right leg forward? Btw, Love the details on these videos!!
@GojuRyuKarateCentre2 жыл бұрын
The last cat stance is left back, At the end of the kata Sorry for the confusion.
