It is a great line. I don't think it applies to people the way it applies to Gohan though. The "strength" people don't know they have is the capacity of the mind to adapt to situations that seem impossible to be successful in. Sure, if we take enough of a mental beating it can certainly warp our mind, but if anything the extreme ways people are able to cope with events is just evidence of that strength. What is inspiring is to stop dwelling on the ways we perceive we are lacking or inferior to those we compare ourselves to & instead think about what we could be if we applied ourselves 100% to solving one problem for a year or maybe a decade. Mental 'transformations" as radical as Super Saiyan 2 are very real, but they don't happen instantaneously, they take an abundance of time & small steps each building off of the last.

Goku thought Cell was saying masturbated. One of the urban myths created to act as a deterrent is that it causes hair to grow on your palms and your eyes to go blind. It’s unsurprising Goku would’ve combined the two Why was Mr Satan offended by the homeless man under house arrest comment? Remember when Cell was roasting him asking if he was homeless and got his start in bum fights. And Satan said it was getting oddly personal.

I’m Super, that’s completely changed and Goku has reached such a high level that he doesn’t see it that way anymore. He and Vegeta can handle most any threat these days.

When Mr. Perfect Cell destroyd the ring, he said, “At last, we can fight unabated.“ Then Goku said, “Chi-chi says that makes hair grow on your eyes.“ Essentially, Goku thought Mr. Perfect Cell was talking about masturbation. There are some old wives’ tales that claim that masturbation can make you go blind, and others that say it makes hair grow on your palms. So TeamFourStar combined those two weird superstitions into hair growing on your eyes. Hope that helps!

Also, as they have hinted many times, Goku is essentially a "savant." He seems barely functional when it comes to the nuances of social interaction, but when it comes to fighting he's a genius. It makes sense, he has been fighting his whole life, training with Master Roshi as a toddler. He has specialized every aspect of his life to being the best fighter possible.

Vegeta and Freeza (TFS used the manga spelling) thrived on smack talk and getting into their victims' heads to get the desired responses out of fear or despair. When it was discovered that Goku wouldn't be providing either of those, they came unhinged due to an inability to comprehend Goku's sheer mental density.

Until this point, no character could regenerate their head being blown off. That's why everyone was so quick to assume Cell's death. The worst Cell got before this point was losing his arm to Vegeta, and we've seen Piccolo regenerate many of those.

Because if you remember, in Majinbuu Saga, when he got transformed into statue because of Dabura´s abilities, Trunks breaked Picollo by mistake and he got destroyed by pieces and he regenerated back when Dabura's spell ended! Piccolo's regeneration works on limbs only afaik, its much more limited than that of Cell or Buu Thats why he went down to a hole in the chest during Namek and this arc, he cant regenerate any organs etc. Also why Cell surviving the Final Flash was an important moment. Until then he only regen'd his tail. People forget that in-universer character knowledge is different to 20 years of fandom meta knowledge.

Hey Melon! If you want to continue with something similar like dbza’s cell games, than I suggest you watch a KZbinr know as devilartemis. He was inspired to create dbz content based on TFS’s cell vs videos and created his own channel based on that concept. He’s even currently working with TFS on original videos that focus on events after the ending of dbza.

You know, I never really made that connection, but I like that theory. It makes a lot of sense. I suppose a much better question would be HOW is Freeza able to survive having everything bellow his abdomen sliced off. Sure, they "repair" him with mechanical parts later, but how long can you survive in that condition? There MANY reasons you would die (like massive blood loss, losing your intestines, kidneys, etc). Also how does he "breath in space" anyway? As Goku said "space is a vacuum." Idk maybe he just "holds his breath" or some shit lol Its probably best not to think too much about the logic here

6:48 Well, they must've read the original manga. Cell says he's got a nucleus in his head that let's him regenerate so long as it stays intact. But he's already had his head blown off by then. This just an example of Toriyama writing - the man doesn't keep track of what he's written or drawn, just goes with the flow. And it was changed in the anime (and maybe translated manga) to him just having it somewhere. 7:38 He can still regrow the whole rest of his body, which is still hella impressive. 19:30 I mean, you still got DBZA Kai 3.5, they made a video of Krillin and 18 going on a date and the HFIL videos. And now you even have videos of TFS talking about making the episodes.

What they didn't account for was that Frieza's DNA permits him to survive frankly stupid amounts of dismemberment and Gero improved upon Piccolo's regen. A lot of die hard fans of the manga will tell you that the DBZA version of the Gohan vs Cell fight is actually the best adaptation. Having seen all the versions of it in anime form, I am inclined to agree. IF I had to give the four parts of episode 60 titles, they would be Day of Fate, Red Flags, My Way, and Anticlimax. After you are done with the series, be sure to watch the two spin off series TFS does: Dragon Shorts and Home for Infinite Losers.

My question, does Cell also regenerate 18 after Goku hit him with that Kamehameha? Because unless his body shoved her down into his legs and waist, she shoved have been annihilated by the Kamehameha, like 17 when Cell blew up

I... omg that is weird. I was going to say that 18's body was converted into energy after she was absorbed, but then how do you explain what happens...later. Her entire body was still intact, which suggests both 18 & 17 are in there somewhere. Not sure how a human sized dude can fit 2 entire human sized dudes INSIDE his body, or his legs for that matter. Then again, Buu had a sophisticated was to store the people he absorbed (they were shrunk down to a microscopic size & encased in little pods until they're freed), so perhaps Cell works the same way? idk Its probably best not to think too much about the logic here lol

The Senzu bean thing was actually the smartest thing Goku could have done, he just failed to count on Gohan’s willingness to fight.

No it was the dumbest thing ever. It severed zero purpose. Even without the senzu bean cell was still alot stronger than gohan.

@@chrisbarnesbarnes8332 No. Gohan was absolutely going to be stronger than Cell, but he would not be able to unleash his full power if not presented with the challenge. In the end, the bean worked in Gohan’s favour because he was able to unleash his full potential and well, you know how it ends. Yes, it came with sacrifices. But which DB universe fight never came with any of those?

@@tranatkikomi6873 no the story would have still played out the same. Cell was highly confident that even if goku was given a senzu he would still be able to beat him. Cell was not putting in real effort against goku. Cell was still far stronger than ssj1 gohan. He still would have pushed him to the edge and bring out the cell jrs. And even if he wasnt that strong then so what. Gives gohan a better chance of taking him down without going ssj2. Either way without the senzu the events that could play out are similar. Cell pushes gohan to the edge and forces him to transform or cell gets defeated by ssj1 gohan

I remembered btw I think there was another Movie after Browly. About that one Villian who creates some kind of Illusion Warriors from the Dead Enemys they faced before. Another Christmas Special, it even makes a Reference to Vegeta knowing the Tree Guy. Your Comment about that made me remember that Movie. 1:00 And I dont know if your old enough to remember that Show, but he just made a Reference to Alf. Piccolo: "Im 90% sure I cant do that" Cell: "We figure this out later" ;-) Not a bad joke eighter.
