Goku's more interesting as a battle character, but that's not what Superman is about. Superman's interesting stories are when his morals are tested. Superman is interesting because he can't slip up once. He has to be the best of us because he is so powerful. His job isn't just to protect the Earth. He is like a moral guide for humanity. He has all that power, but all he wants to do is hang out with his family and eat apple pie. He doesn't let that power corrupt him even though he has all the incentive in the world to let it (like in Injustice).

One thing people don't seem to understand is that the DC universe/multiverse is just a higher power scale setting. To compare Zeno erasing a universe to, say, the Anti-Monitor isn't a 1 to 1 comparison. DC universes are bigger and have more super powered characters in them. The Anti-Monitor erasing DC universes is a way more impressive feat than Zeno erasing DB universes. Also, DB's multiverse is relatively tiny. It only has 12 universes. DC's (depending when you're talking) has infinite. It's just a bigger setting that deals with higher level entities, and Superman tangles with all of them.

There is nothing wrong with that. You can say that in your head this is canon goku vs comp superman and canon goku's cosmology doesn't stand up. And thats 100% ok. Deathbattle virtually did that since they ignored basically everything in heroes😂. But at least you can admit to not knowing where they stand in comparison to canon. Because when you bring up heroes, its a completely different take on the franchise. Its not a mere 12 universes. Its literally infinite with layers upon layers of infinite realms, including a real world and more layers on top of that. It is a lot. And it makes them completely seperate from their counter parts. Cc goku is not canon goku. To compare them is like comparing kid goku to MUI goku and claim MUI goku is "vaguely" stronger. Its not even comparable.

Godzilla vs Superman is a matchup I never saw coming, but I’m glad it happened. However it is a cross-over story making it part of else worlds meaning that this isn’t part of the mainline continuity. Honestly Goku has the abilities and powers he needs to win (In my opinion). However I don’t think it’s in his character to abuse any of Superman’s weaknesses. He would never settle for beating Superman with a cheap shot or when Superman isn’t at his best. I honestly think someone like Frieza would have a better chance as he would certainly abuse Superman’s weaknesses.

He can’t win, even Frieza given Kryptonite would lose badly as Superman would ignore it and get stronger, and I'm not joking as there are moments where Superman is put in impossible odds like his own Death taking away his power, aging him, making him fight a kryptonite lex Luther brainiac hybrid, Vandel savage trapping him in hypertime where got hit by a radiation and even sent two other supermans to kill him, and Nekron leaving him the void to get eaten away from existence and each instance Superman suddenly pop back to the full peak and is noted now stronger, as Superman is archetypal being of Hope, and other concepts. Goku nor anyone in dragon ball has no Mean of attacking this Concept which is a so great even Recon corp, and corporation that exist above DC that is they see it as fiction and are the one responsible for the stories told, they are noted unable to alter this “idea” of Superman that no matter what change they tried to do with his character it doesn’t nudge, so even narrative lvl manipulation can’t change or destroy this concept Superman embodies

I really hate when people will say dumb shit like Goku can beat Superman in base form. They even have a meme where Superman says he finally beat Goku. His clothes are all torn and he's bleeding and then either Goku or Vegeta pops up and says that's Yamcha. They actually believe that Yamcha is on Supermans level. They think Kid Goku can beat Superman. The version without the experience of Adult Goku. I was rooting for Goku in parts 2 and 3 but, Superman is on a whole other level of broken. He is literally the OG of all Superpowered comic book characters. Every physical superpower you can think of was given to him first. Most superheroes in the comics are granted the same exact abilities but, on a smaller scale. Death Battle does get stuff wrong but, they will get other stuff right. They will often use composite versions of a character to give him/her an edge. Like Godzilla who after dying is canonically reborn into a more powerful Godzilla with different abilities. They combined every single version knowing that the true original Godzilla I.E the weakest one was killed by a bio weapon in the very first movie. The point is that they are wrong only at least half the time. You just gotta take the good with the bad.

Omega beams erase a character from existence and have a higher success rate than hakai. Omega sanction sends a characters through time to suffer an infinite amount of miserable lives and deaths. Superman has tanked both and shrugged them off. Batman wasn't so lucky and was sent through time in Final Crisis.

If you all haven't noticed yet but Beerus does not mind lying to Goku or Vegeta about anything my example is Monaka. So what makes yall think that Beerus wasn't lying to Goku about how much Power he was using in The Battle of God's. You have to remember that Beerus's battle lust is on par with Saiyans and his main goal was to find a worthy opponent to keep him entertained. As soon as he feels like he's gonna get a worthy challenge from Goku or Vegeta I can guarantee you that he will not hesitate to fight them again because he has been itching to us his Full Power of the Destroyer Hakia form. I don't think they are ready yet and we can't use Top as an example because he was a Destroyer in training and Beerus has been one for Millions of years its not the same an he even say it that Top has to charge Haika energy first to use it. The Destroyers have levels to them not every Destroyer is on the same Power Level and from what I've seen from the Manga and how Lazy and non shallant Beerus acts confirms that he is the strongest Destroyer. Which is different from having the strongest mortal level universe, otherwise he wouldn't walk around not giving F about what is going like he does," ahh I think I'll sit this one out and take a nap" Beerus's words on almost everything that doesn't compare to his power. Plus if Goku or Vegeta got close to him yet Whis damn sure would said something and made a joke to instigate Beerus like he loves to do so in my opinion nah Goku ain't there yet with M.U.I something that beerus has done before himself.

The actual animated fight Death Battle makes has nothing to do with the matchup results. That's just something for our entertainment. So many people get really worked up over what the characters do in the animation always saying things like "X character should've just done Y move and it's over." or something similar. Again, if they animated it as a true DEATH Battle and they're bloodlusted and out to kill, this fight would be done in an instant but that wouldn't be entertaining now, would it? The real determinators of the winners are the stats.

Superman does have tons of immeasurable speed feats and outerversal strength feat. I dont think they downplayed goku much. They used cc goku and his top scaling was the demigra feat which they put in the black boxes. Here's the calculations. 76 billion, 434 million, 925 thousand 761 timelines. That's what they scaled cc goku to if u read the boxes. What gave superman the win is his larger cosmology. I still think they should have never scaled individual universe sizes because DC has many universes that vary for example. The main universe is 15 billion years older than ours. But darkseids universe has a extra 5 billion years which means it infinitely expanded further than the main dc verse. This also puts darkseids verse in a higher dimension. Darkseids verse literally makes the main dc verse look microscopic.

The whole argument about Superman being boring because he is the strongest... Doesnt make much sense if you actually watch/read his stories. There may be stories where he deals with normal human crooks, in which he may be the most powerful around for sure..... But more often than not Supes faces a lot of enemies that can kick his butt. Clark may hold back enough to avoid killing, but against the other Super Beings, against other metahumans/aliens/cyborgs/magical creatures etc, that's only "holding back" as much as Batman does against human thugs, but they can still hurt Superman, and it's not uncommon for him to lose. The thing with Superman as for why he seems so ridiculously OP in the power scaling scene, is because we are talking about a protagonist of an action series that has been around for almost 86 years. He has crazy feats that trumps over most other fictional characters, but that's a consequence of them keeping on raising the stakes, going planetary when other series stops at mountain level, going at full on infinitely expanding universal scale while others are starting to brag about galaxies, and dealing with even more crazy layers highly dimensional multiverses wheras other's are barely grasping the concept of dimensions. Superman and the Justice League has essentially just been "Dragon Ball Z"ing for longer than most franchises ever. It's fine to be more of a Goku fan, but something a lot of people seem to forget, is that for every crazy feat Superman pulled off there was a story with stakes that it took place in. He isnt a boring OP, unchallenged character created with the explicit purpose to win in vs debates, Superman is just another character that has a bunch of stories that you can pull from. And Goku is pretty much following the same path of power as his franchise continues to give him more powerups and more stories.

Goku is a student of the technique. He has not mastered it, and still struggles to use it to its full potential. While the technique itself does not need you to track a person's ki to be used, Goku would often use it in this way sort of like training wheels on a bike.

Here's my intake with this... Goku is more of a "Self developmental character" way more than Superman. He didn't have to rely on outside sources to even out Superman, but when Superman started losing, he ran to get the help. I get it, though, Superman can do that, but that shows, to me, that he is not self reliable to his own strengths and limitbreaking capabilities, while Goku is able to push forward. In addition, Goku's story is more steady and not revamped over and over the years to make him look undefeatable. Superman may have gotten the win (cough), but Goku is indeed the more loving character who has gained GREAT feats based on his story and where he started from.

the manga does explain this pretty well tbf, the power he gets is already there he just needs to grow strong enough to control it so he gets given little chunks of it from the original Shadow monarch, also he has consequences and punishments for failing to follow the system (original shadow monarch) to make himself stronger to receive more power since the Dragon Monarch was going to attack soon as well as the other Monarchs. Also at the same time of him getting stronger he is also adding to that power making it even stronger so he becomes OP and unfuckwitable but even with that he barely defeats the Dragon Monarch at the end. hope that helped you understand it a bit better 👍👍

Superman is a far more interesting character than Goku because his stories are nuanced. Rarely have Superman stories been about who is stronger or punching an enemy, they're about morality and conflicting ideologies. He's had an ongoing comic for nearly a century because you can tell a wide variety of stories with a character that stands on their beliefs against an ever changing world than a story about fighting ever more powerful enemies. The power creep in Dragon ball is out of control and reaching its limits whereas Superman has always been the most powerful character in his universe but his stories have never been about scaling or comparing his power, thats why he can continously grow his power and the stories aren't negatively affected.

Now he's just as busted as he was in silver age, combined with Cosmic Armor Superman, he scales to be outerversal. The only way you can beat infinite Frontier Superman is if you kill the concept of hope within him, if you can't, he negs all your shit. Which means he's high complex 4D if not 5D because he's a concept in itself. Because as soon as I saw infinite Frontier comic panels, I was like there's no way Goku is winning, he's fighting a concept in physical form. Because the idea behind infinite Frontier is that Superman is hope and as long as hope exists within him, he can do anything and beat anyone and gives hope to the DC multiverse and all things within and outside of it.
