A problem with making the troop high level is that new player will be unable to equip these gold order troops with side arms or ammo pouches. It would be very simply fixed by making the gold order troop’s side arm and backpack slots automatically unlocked

Finally! Finally somebody is talking about this issue. I've made a small Forum thread about this a some time ago, when I got my 4th gold troop order from the log-in reward. And of course the Snail is doing the most Snail thing imaginable: it's giving me more and more of them from the rewards - I have 6 gold troop orders now. I have to say your ideas are pretty good and quite "effortless" for DF to implement.

I understand where this video is going, but I would just like to point that allied gold solders on Normandy are real life medal of honor recipients, and they gave all. I think it's a cool way of remembering them. Look em up on google sometime... everyone of them has their own heroic story.

V star soldiers lost their point once the Academy was scraped. You had to "kill" 2/3 of your best IV stars (you see what I did here, stars, not rank/level confusion lol) soldiers to get the one V star through Academy. They added rank II and III gold order soldiers in later battlepass seasons, but they are pointless if you don't have red tree maxed out for that specific squad. Edit: I think the gold orders soldiers should be veteran level, that would really make them exclusive, at least at this point until the veteran becomes available.

I got the "exclusive Normandy allied soldier" after getting the rank of marshal and I feel short changed and disappointed at the meager reward. If dark flow could change it to a tank,plane with crews or exclusive weapons then it would feel more rewarding and worth the effort in getting the rank of marshal.

My idea of how a gold soldier should work. They should have the best possible perk point roll for that class. And instead of getting a random roll of perks like every normal soldier, you're able to manually select the specific perks you want

Got lucky as a beginner and snagged a max stat assaulter 3 for the axis, the biggest issue was the lack of a backpack slot until I got to assaulter 3 naturally, I agree they should all come maxed out on stats and slots ffs.

Vasily Zaitsev was a real person, his rifle that he used in the battle of Stalingrad is on display at the great patriotic war museum in Volgograd or at the museum in Moscow but I believe it's the former .... Major Konig was a fictional character for the movie based of a German sniper that may or may not have been real 😂, yea Zaitsev squared of with other snipers but the story about the dual between them is believed to be mostly Soviet propaganda. It's debated .... Ps I did this from memory so it may not be 100% feel free to correct me comments people

Gold order soldiers should always have perfect rolls (the most points possible for that kind of soldier) otherwise there really isn't any point to them.

Im not sure if the devs really should use historical characters for these soldiers. Wouldn’t it be even more awkward if 5 Simo Häyhäs would be present at the same battle? Perhaps as rare event rewards as with König and Zaitzev but for the general gold order soldiers I would personally prefer: 1) Name generator and/or the ability to create own custom names. 2) Face generator and/or the ability to freely chose one of the existing faces 3) Individualization options for this very character unlocked for special medals. Could be a tank commander with a Knights Cross around his neck, a soldier with an iron cross ribbon on his uniform or a Sturmabzeichen or close combat badge just to name a few German options that were actually also worn in battle. I guess a Medal of Honor around the neck would be a little too much.

On normandy allies i have all the gold soldiers and I like sticking them all in one squad so i feel extra heroic when i get rocketed into smithereens

Gold order rifleman and engeenere seem most usefull. i use them to lvlup my fresh squads, you can put them into almost any squad. In some campaigns engeere squads are unavailable before lvl10 - ish. Engeenere + good Golden order weapon like g43kurtz is awsome,.... but Golden order soldiers have locked equipment slots (and rank2 building like mg nest) untilk you unlock high campaign lvl with their respective squad. Worth mentionning, its good those soldiers come without perks picked by devs. For Instance devs give awfull perks to premium squads.

I think the solution of gold orders basically eliteing your soldiers is the best way to go about changing gold orders, you get a gold order and then use it on a soldier and then they instantly hit level 5, max out their respective class perk points to whatever the highest roll is, and they get the medal icon next to their name, so a gold order would work instead as a requisition but a decoration

Gold order assaulters and gunner IIs get perfect perks in Tunisia. They are worth picking if you want to start playing Tunisia

@@MajorMcDonalds Yes they do. I have both assaulters and the gunner for axis. And the perks are the same for every player so I suggest getting them. But if you wonder why, I don't know. Maybe they have learned their lesson since the newest gold troopers tend to be good.

I used my gold order on a pilot because it's a one man squad and it makes flying much more tolerable. They should come equipped with perks already and decent weapons though for the price.

I have found the best value are vehicle crew, Ground Assaulter II pilots as best pick, as they they level up fast, have enough perk points for best perks and save a lot of grind.

They are actually good for low levels :) I was level 1 on tunisua because I took a long brake from Enlisted shortly before that campaign came out… I spent two gold orders to actually have engineers as not having engineers until lvl9 sucks :))

I'd actually like if you could choose which level the Gold troop had when you redeem them. Because just having them just set to Assaulter 4 for example would move them past the Assaulter 3 class with the 100% Health regained from medpacks, a perk that I like very much and it would make them as pointless as before when you get a perk, that you are not interested in.

Hey Major. I was wondering if someone would do an experiment with the AI. I noticed when you set them to aggressive when they are Lvl 4-5 they wreck the enemy. I had a game where I had a Lvl 5 assaulter 3 have 12 kills. More then me at the time. And continue to get kills up until I switched to him. My squads tend to do this and it's something I do when I spawn in normally. I was just wondering if it's pointless to set them this way or if it's worth it. Anyways great video 👍

Wow, good idea. I don't think I've ever set them to be aggressive - how do you do that? But that sounds insane! I sometimes do note some AI are so OP and other times they are bad, so maybe this is it? And thank you!

@@MajorMcDonalds sorry didn't see this till know. I'm on console so the button are probably different. Its in the order scroll wheels that pops up under Squad Behavior or maybe just behavior. It has Passive and Aggressive or the default I believe is a mix of both. Like Return fire kinda. Aggressive they shoot at everything. I noticed with the BAR squads in Normandy they will shoot across the map and get kills easy. Passive they literally do nothing. A guy can run up and Stab you and they won't shoot. Probably went for sniper squads or big flanks so the AI are quiet. It seems to effect the way they move but haven't tested it.

It shouldn’t be a troop order. Should be a premium squad order. Don’t give it until the end of the battle pass. They’ll get a ton of people ordering the bp but never get to the end to even get the premium squad order. So they may have to buy it anyway

It's more of paying the actual man respects by doing it. Make sure their names are remembered. And no the gold troop orders have way higher stats for skills. Gives a slight edge. And that's 9 out of 10 times all you need

Yeah I’ve been stacking mine up too, I feel if they add new campaign levels then they’ll add better troop class numbers like assaulter 4s, and then your assaulter 1s are not good at all :( so it makes sense to stack them IMO to not waste them unless you need some soldier desperately or just like him for some reason

Yeah there’s loads of fighter pilot ones now, when this video was made there weren’t that many, and they also fixed gold soldiers in response to videos like this so they’re good now :)

Its better that they arent over powered. That would make this game pay to win vs pay to progress. Gold Order Soldiers do save time and silver which is really helpful for new players. They can be a bit gimped but they arent typically worse than soldiers bought with silver and are about equal. I wouldnt use Gold to purchase them but for the Soldier Tokens they arent that bad.
