I went to the zoom meeting yesterday and followed by a meeting with Julie, an audiologist, and I'm really happy I decided to register for it. I've watched some of your videos and it has given me hope that I may have a chance to quiet the sound in my head. I've dealt with this for over 50 years now.

Hello, Thank you SO much for your work and sharing on KZbin. My tinnitus started years ago when I had an adverse reaction to the drug Duricef. It has always remained but experienced different levels of noise. Most of the time, it was very manageable until I got Covid 19 Jan 22. The tinnitus was so loud, I could hardly believe it. It has pretty much remained and NOW it is becoming a real problem in my life. I love quiet and that is nonexistent in my life now, it is difficult to read and of course, it interferes with hearing others and TV , even now listening to your voice on this youtube, I hear you perfectly but the tinnitus is so loud and is miserable. I hope hope now after listening to this video. I need to find the help I need! THANK YOU

My T day 2/28/10. I had a VERY difficult time the first 5 years. It truly is a shrill high pitch screech that I can hear everywhere except the shower. I tried everything and the only thing to give me any relief is wearing a masker 24/7. I'm not sure if that is frowned upon or not, I only tell you what helped me because I was desperate for any relief. I wish I would have found this channel earlier but better late than never.

My friend, I really appreciate your help but we do really want you to talk about the state of the art research on tinnitus, for instance about being able to objectively mesure and watch by MRI tinnitus, and techniques to regenerate ear's hair cells in the future. That's what we all should focus on.

I've had tinnitus as long as I can remember, so since I was 3 or 4... In my case I feel its psychological and my brain can forget that that high pitch ringing is there. Only when I consciously think about it it is there. My sort of little issue is when I wonder how I got it. I'm close to 60 years old now, but for years I put it down to inoculation rubella German measles damage. Nowadays though probably not..... I feel people who for example were next to a gun going off, and developed it ever since know there route course of tinnitus, and like everything in life knowing can have it's advantages and disadvantages..... Hope and relief to all sufferers.... Maybe medical science will find a great relief one day....

I had to laugh about recommending ENTs - I see an ENT because I have sinus issues, but I also have a history of concussions and issues with tinnitus. My tinnitus is about 90% gone, but if I eat food that requires a lot of chewing or move my jaw forward, it comes back. I mentioned this to my ENT after she had said there was nothing I could do about my tinnitus because it was due to hearing loss. Her response was this change in my tinnitus was just some placebo effect due to watching con-artists on KZbin trying to convince me that TMJ issues cause tinnitus. So, my board-certified ENT believes KZbin videos have a placebo effect since what I was telling her didn't fit what she believed. All the sound therapy has absolutely no impact on my tinnitus though. The only thing that does is either moving my jaw or stretching my neck. But she's adamant that the jaw has no impact on tinnitus. I'm really hoping some of these new treatments can help get rid of the remaining tinnitus and also get rid of it when I'm eating.

My ENT looked me straight in the eye and told me that I would never find relief from tinnitus and that any claims to the contrary are untrue. Awful. Thank you for this video, it's good to hear that there's some hope. Maybe not a cure but relief is a lot better than nothing.

Hey Doc, I fixed my Tinnitus. Basically ur ear sucks in trying to protect itself from noise etc. So all the tiny bones get out of alignment. It took about two months and working daily on it to massage and stretch the ear back into the original shape. I used coconut oil and went skillfully deep into the ear hole starting stretching pressing and opening. I searched and pressed deep into all parts of the ear releasing tension. It helps to know and do some nostril breath work to undo stress in the tissue. I also found behind the ear where it joins to the skull their was tenderness and tension and I worked diligently in those areas. Think about it. The ear got whacked hard with sound so it needs to be put back into position. Look at it like that. Learn to do the massage work. Granted I have nimble fingers as I play classical guitar and practice yoga so I have a leg up but this can be done. Also, on KZbin there are om chanting tracks at 528 hz that are several hours and work like a charm. Never say something cannot be healed, we just don't understand how to do it. I had it and was suicidal after a solid month or so of non stop noise. I had to figure it out. You can be a healer. I'm in in south Florida if ur in the are I can show u my technique. All the best. 👍🤗

Thank you for your kind words! Sound therapy programs, like those offered by Widex, can provide low-level stimuli to help you gradually become more accustomed to sounds, which may reduce sensitivity over time. It's worth discussing these options with your audiologist to determine the best course of action for your specific needs.

I’ve had tinnitus since 1969 while in the army artillery. Very quickly, I slid into stage 4. It’s always worse at night when everything is quiet. I’ve learned to live with it. But it’s still a pain in the ass. Lately I’ve developed SCDS. That’s where my superior semi circular canal is damaged. So besides the regular symptoms of that condition, the tinnitus is driving me crazy. So, what you’re saying is true, it should disappear if I ignore it. I’m 75 and have been ignoring it since I was in my 20s.
@EagleEntity

That’s what I’m starting to think about tinnitus. It’s mostly mental in most cases. If it’s ignored and not fixated on it can really feel non existent despite being there still. Some people can do it some can’t. Question is for those who can’t how do they do it. How is it possible to get them to not think about it or notice it

First I noticed tinnitus at 7 years old for an hour or so. Then it reappeared after a couple of years again for an hour or so. Then I had it twice as a teenager, both times for several weeks. I think I've found something that might help with tinnitus as it seems to have helped me. You'll need Alexa. What I do is have Alexa play "cricket sounds" for one hour as I fall asleep. And then I have her on alarm to begin playing cricket sounds again at 4:00 am. In other words, I have cricket sounds playing as I drift off to sleep and as I enter that arousal part of sleep. I let alexa play beginning at 4:00 until when I wake up. At that point, the tinnitus seems to be gone! Possibly, if you attack your tinnitus at certain crucial moments during drifting off and arousal, there may be a chance to control your tinnitus. Of course this is just working for me and mine isn't that bad. I play the sound just barely loud enough to cover the tinnitus. Try it and good luck to all who have this!

i have 3 tones of tinnitus - a rumbling, idle truck sound that sounds like its coming from everywhere, a very high pitched in the right and a slightly less high pitched sound in the left. no sound therapy helps because not one sound masks all three. the ringing/high pitched sounds are usually not masked at all and i constantly hear them unless i am literally blasting the white noise/water/music sounds. the sounds normally make my ears feel irritated as well. the white noise doesnt help with the ringing at all, esp when im laying on my side (laying on my back makes my legs numb lol)

My tinnitus started about 3 years after I was diagnosed with MS and it has been branded as caused by MS as there is no visible ear damage. I have recently started using masking sounds around the 5500Khz band and it seems to help. I even tried the crickets from this channel and it helped a little but I felt I had to keep increasing the volume. The relief when I first used an effective masking sound brought me to tears. It was such a joyous moment. I struggle at night as I cannot sleep with headphones on and my computer is in a different room. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good sound pillow? Thanks for the video and all the information.

Typically, the drilling/cleaning that dentist's perform is not loud enough to cause damage to our auditory system. Since the sounds are often unpleasant, it's recommend to listen to music at a comfortable level to offset the sound. Using earplugs may actually make the noise seem louder in your head.

I got covid back in December of 2022, and on my second day if being sick is when I got a sinus/ear infection which caused my tinnitus. Obviously I was at stage 1 for about 3 week, then eventually went on to stage two on week 4, and stage 3 on week five. However, I began to get randoms spikes which had brought me back to stage 1 and 2. I was eventually able to get back to stage 3, and are still making my way to 4. Im not too sure how loud my tinnitus is exactly, but its pretty low and subtle. There are times where I can hear it in the background while focusing on any current activity, but shrug it off. Oh, and I’ve been using a speaker playing background noise since I first got it. It has helped SO MUCH!

It took me 4 years till 2020 when I eventually accepted the annoying sound honestly sometimes randomly the high pitch sounds stops completely for a second and just when that happens i get disorented in tge upsences of tunitus. Hi Dr. Ben Thompson...I got tinnitus from taking doxycycline for 10 days which I never had it before but the doctor said that it will stop the hissing sound after stop taking the medicine but it's been 2 months already that I stop the medicine but still have tinnitus ..I've been to the hearing test and ENT the result was symmetrical and eardrums are healthy and I don't have pain in my ear ..only is that hissing sound is annoying sometimes i got stress by the high pitch noise.. My question is does the tinnitus will subsides later on? I've been following your tinnitus meditation everyday and I'm already in the 4th day meditation... Thanks!

They are brain supplements. most people interested in nootropics aren't sticking to coffee or tea. They’re branching out to dietary supplements. Some, such as ginseng and gingko, have not held up to scientific scrutiny. Yet others -- including CDP-choline, L-theanine, creatine monohydrate, Bacopa monnieri, huperzine A, and vinpocetine -- may still hold promise. Racetams, such as piracetam, are another type of nootropic. You can get these synthetic compounds over the counter in the U.S., but they’re considered prescription drugs in some other countries. D'Adamo says these chemicals, which act on neurotransmitters including acetylcholine, have been studied in older adults who have a decline in thinking skills. He doesn’t recommend them for most younger, healthy people.

Peter Lynch 1 hour ago Hey Doc, I fixed my Tinnitus. 👍🤗

Thank you for presenting this information. I have had tinnitus since 1982. I think I’m in stage 3 but still have frequent spikes. The spikes usually drop me back to stage 2. I do have tinnitus all day long. How does CBT for tinnitus differ from CBT for other conditions like anxiety or depression? And are hearing aids programmed to treat tinnitus adding a program to the aid or more like a built in masker in addition to correcting/treating the hearing loss?

@treblehealth
@treblehealth Жыл бұрын
Some hearing aids have tinnitus relief features which would be added as a second or third program. Regarding your CBT question, CBT for tinnitus target specific thoughts and core beliefs that are unconstructive, help people with tinnitus/hyperacusis reduce their negative appraisals of situations, help them develop more adaptive behavioral modifications, and help people with tinnitus/hyperacusis develop ways to modify behaviors and cognitions in reaction to tinnitus. All 3 goals are expected to lead to more positive emotional outcomes therefore, implicitly treating the depression or anxiety. The difference between CBT for tinnitus and CBT for depression/anxiety would be that CBT for tinnitus is targeted towards tinnitus but consequently also treats depression and anxiety.

How many hours a day should I listen those sounds. And for how many months? Please advice. And the question is does TRT therapy reduce the negative effects of tinnitus? Do you advice a drug in company with TRT? With my Best Regards

The duration of sound therapy for tinnitus can vary depending on the individual and the severity of their tinnitus. Some people may find relief from tinnitus symptoms after just a few sessions of sound therapy, while others may need to continue the therapy for a longer period of time to achieve significant improvement. The length of treatment can also depend on the type of sound therapy being used. For example, if a person is using a sound machine or white noise generator to help them sleep at night, they may continue to use the device as long as it remains helpful. If you start to experience worsening of your tinnitus, try switching sounds. For instance, going from cricket sounds to pink noise. Hope this helps!

As a patient at Treble Health. I can assure you that no one there ever claimed to be able to cure my tinnitus. In fact, this presentation makes it clear that currently no medicine or surgery can cure the condition. "EFFECTIVE cure" was the term used and refers to a well-documented reduction/ elimination of tinnitus distress for most patients, accompanied in many cases by a reduction in tinnitus volume. Such an outcome represents a virtual cure for many patients who come to Treble Health in shambles and essentially are able to get their life back through the science-backed and evidence-based treatments offered.There are many companies out there selling snake oil; I know from personal experience that Treble Health is not one of them.

I have heard you state that you need to leave the ear canal open instead of using iPods. Can you folks address the issue of most all hearing aids only go up to 8khz. If your tinnitus is above this frequency hearing aids IMO are then not helpful for masking. iPods have a transparency mode that allows you to hear outside noise. While this is artificial they can go above 8khz and tickle the higher frequencies.
