Gold Watch Modeling in Blender

Thank you checking out my video, this will be first of many. I would say, for this video you need to have some experience with blender. I do try to call you what commands I am using, but I do not hit all of them.
This will be the modeling part of the image. In part 2 we will go over the materials and final lighting.

great tutorial for sure , however i did have an issue with the boolean differences because there have been many new versions since this post. Cant seem to figure it out. Any pointers??? Otherwise my watch looks cheesy as hell without the exposed face lol

Nice tutorial, thank you! 27:38 I would use Edge Split modifier to get rid of this weird face shading, is that right technique or mistake?

That would work for the top face yes, however your circle cutouts would not be smooth anymore. If you want to see what I am talking about, click smooth shading, apply the edge split at 5 degrees. Thanks for the question and checking out the video!

Unless I'm doing something wrong, my extrude/scale along the z-axis is broken. I get all sorts of weird behavior. Maybe it's a Mac thing, I don't know.

You could make a low poly version and bake your high resolution maps.
