Hey, everyone, I am getting this question a LOT and it was a poor decision on my part but: the FIRST STEP where I take the cube and scale it down to zero will leave you with DUPLICATE VERTICES! If you do not then right click > merge by distance then you WILL HAVE 'DOUBLES' (vertices on top of each other) which will cause failure in many of the subsequent steps (bevel especially.) This was a silly thing I did in an effort to save our beloved default cube but it has caused more trouble for you all that it was worth! Follow the steps above (seen in video but not given much attention) OR, DELETE the default cube and add a plane, and work with that!

Hey bro, what is your pc/laptop specifications? I'm from India By the way. Do you also struggle with simple render taking lot of time ?
@HUNrobar4 жыл бұрын
@@mrvk699 Depends on many things, but generally you need at least a quad-core processor and a not too old videocard with at least 2-4GB video memory. I would not recommend anything older than 5 years, especially amd cards (Blender doesn't really support models before RX series). You can get away with older nvidia cards like gtx 660-670 or 760-770 series if you can get a used one very cheap but I would recommend at least something like gtx 970, 1050ti, 1060 or similar. I have a GTX970 at the moment and it works nicely with not too complex scenes. (my cpu is Ryzen 1600x, and I had a Ryzen 1200 previously, both work well) For very light scenes on eevee a recent mid-range laptop cpu with integrated graphics could work, but it will get very slow as you increase the complexity

34:10 Explanation of where 0.906 comes from. I you look at the RGB values of the default colour, you'll see that R = G = B = 0.8. These are the values in the linear color space, meaning that if a ray bounces off of the surface, then 80% of the red, green and blue components are reflected, while 20% is absorbed and doesn't show up (it becomes heat inside the object). The values that you read in the HSV are instead represented in the sRGB color space. If you read here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB#The_forward_transformation_(CIE_XYZ_to_sRGB), you find out that there is a formula to convert R_linear -> R_srgb, G_linear -> G_srgb and B_linear -> B_srgb. I'm referring to the function gamma(u) on the Wikipedia page. If you plug in 0.8 into the formula, you get out approximately R_srgb = G_srgb = B_srgb = 0.90633. Now, the V in HSV is something you can read about here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSL_and_HSV#Lightness. I will not digress about how horribly it behaves from a scientific point of view (in the sense that it is not an accurate representation of the perceived "luminosity" of a color; you can for instance look at Fig. 13e to see some disadvantages of using it). Anyway, the definition is really simple: V = max(R_srgb, G_srgb, B_srgb). In our case, since the three channels are all the same, V turns out to be about 0.906 as well. Basically, the crucial fact to be aware of is that not only the two tabs (RGB and HSV) in the color picker represent the color in different coordinates, but also in different color spaces: linear vs sRGB.

Loved the long tutorial. I really wanted to see you put the whole thing together. I still end up back in AE and Element for the final compositing but with the speed of Eevee, I’d love to see some examples of finished composites in Blender with Audio and finish grading. You used Collections for each scene so I guess you rendered each out then brought them back in but I’m thinking using Video Sequence Editor so things can still be adjusted right up to final output but I’ve never done it that way myself; recent Lightwave convert and loving it!
@DerekElliott5 жыл бұрын
I actually put everything together in AE as well. I think you could do it all in the VSE but most people working professionally I'm sure are familiar with something besides blender for video. After that in edit mode select the Edges of the rectangle and hold CTRL+ B and you will get perfect round edges.
