Hi, I'd like to have your advice on my skincare routine too if you don't mind. I am 16. Medium-light skin. My skin type is combination (but I also think it might be dehydrated oily), sensitive and acne-prone. I have some hyperpigmentation around my mouth and I get breakouts weekly around my forehead, chin and cheeks (not so often now but still happens) which leads to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My goal is to achieve clear skin (scar-free) and to improve the overall tone of my skin. The products I use at the moment are:- Cleanser: Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild for dry combination skin Oil cleanser: Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil (I'd like recommendations on this one as I think this cleansing oil dries my skin out if used frequently) Moisturizer: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel I also use the Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator on top of the moisturizer around my t-zone to give extra hydration as I find that the moisturizer isn't moisturizing enough for my t-zone but I can't switch to a thicker moisturizer in fear of clogging my pores Exfoliator: Physical: Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula (once a week) Chemical: Dr Wu Intensive Renewal Serum with Mandelic Acid 18% (once a week) Toner: Kiehls Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-free Toner Sunscreen: Ego SunSense Sensitive Light SPF 50 Treatments: -The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Mask (once a week) -Plunketts Vitamin E Oil (applied on targeted spots every night to lighten scars) -Papulex Gel (spot treatment for acne) -Clinique All About Eyes eye cream (I'm in a boarding school so I don't get as much sleep as I would like) Recommendations of any products are highly appreciated. Thank you so much and my email is sofeaa.yana.yani@gmail.com

@@sofea7504 Sofea Sayani girl, at your age I was just using moisturiser and spf😂 For hyperpigmentation - good vitamin C serum. For dehydrated skin - 2 litres of water daily. Also you can lock your moisturiser in your skin by using oil on top, at night. I use cannabis oil and it doesnt cloge my pores. Acne may be caused by hormonal changes (your age) but also by bad diet, so check if you eat healthy first. Aloe vera have helped me with those little underskin bumps. Also on hyperpigmentation and scars i've seen amazing results by using derma roller + vit C ampule, but personally I think your skin is too young for roller ☺️ I cannot comment on clinique products as I havent used them but check if they don't have too much alcohol in them - it can cause dryness instead of moisturisation. Also please don't overdo your skincare routine. Now your young skin don't need that much active ingredients and if you give it too much now, it will need much much more later.

@@annagk4775 hi! What do you think of my routine, if you mind? I'm 21 and just in recent years started to really do something with it, but I'm afraid I'm over doing it all at once! When I was a teen I barely removed my makeup lol then I got to use makeup remover, soap and a moisturizer or an oil and massaging it. Now I started to use more things but still trying to keep it minimal -but I have products on the way lol Right now I'm using a cleansing oil from Kose, a foaming cleanser by Neogen (foams with the pump, the green tea one; I plan on using the hada labo hyaluronic acid one next), and squalane oil by The Ordinary (at night; a lightweight Italian moisturizer at day with Bioderma cicabio sun protection 50+; sometimes I'll use Recovery Balm from Monuskin that I got in a subscription box), with a lightweight eye cream (Italian brand; I plan on using the Mizon's Snail repair eye cream when I run out). I exfoliate twice (3 times max) a week with The Ordinary's Lactic Acid 5%+HA. I also ordered a mild peeling gel from A'Pieu to alternate it. I also bought A'Pieu Ato Panthenol (with Panthenol, Niacinamide and Ceramide) as my next face cream since I'm running out of mine. I don't know if this is too much or too little lol I'm sorry I hope I didn't bother you but feel free to ignore me ^^"

These "Nighttime routine" videos are literally just paid advertisements. There is a constant trend of beauty influencers using a whole bunch of products from one brand, coincidence? not at all! Jasmine Sanders doesn't love Dior, she's being payed by Dior. It's so sad to see consumers duped into buying these products when the ingredients are no different than a drugstore brand.
@FLdancer005 жыл бұрын
If someone has the money to buy Dior, why not let them? They clearly don't want Neutragena and just something to clean their face. They want to feel lux and create an experience. It's not your job to watch everyone's pocketbook. Let them waste.

Needless to say, there are many beauty channels, but they are still learning how to uses essences, serum and many more products, or some are just getting into skincare. They lack the knowledge and some of us that have been using skincare for 30 years already still have either used products wrongly, or like myself have better income for finer products and newer products on the market. We can all use new tricks of the trade, that can truly help us get more bang for our buck. Plus we can play along and, spot the mistakes too before you add the proper way. Great video.

God...what a mess! I'm no way any kind of professional, such as dermatologist, esthetician, beautician etc., but I've done my "homework" before I even started using just moisturizer in my twenties. Honestly, I was in a bit of shock...if Jasmine likes, and she obviously does, taking care of her skin- she should know, at least, in which order products are used. This is sad...as you said: total waist of products...and I guess she's quite proud of her skincare. I loved your reaction!!! Priceless!!!😉 "Reacting to..." is a fantastic series! Great idea!!!! Just to mention... I don't get that obsession with makeup wipes. They are tolerable in situations when you don't have water...or toner. In any other case, they are something everyone should skip- if a person has other stuff for taking off makeup... And noooo....this wasn't sponsored by Dior🙄 I made a mistake just one time and bought super expensive Dior eyes and face cream- they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!

I always thought using face oils was the best/most natural approach for fighting occasional blemishes and anti-aging- but when I turned 42 I started getting hormonal acne... Ugh!! blemishes started appearing on my chin, jawline & neck - I immediately started using Vitamin C in the am & retinol in the pm.... i even had to use Retin-A at some point & what a disaster that was on my skin, but I got through it and listened to your recommendations- I’ve purchased so many products that you have mentioned. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a routine so out of order 😂 I just don’t understand the thinking on that at all... I just have to assume she just has no understanding of skincare at all. I want to comment on products and ingredients since Susan mostly mentioned order which yes was so off I was cringing. There are many great affordable low PH cleansers out there like the Cerave ones, the Cosrx Low PH, the Nooni gel cleanser, the Purito one, and more. Cetaphil tho... not good. Higher PH than ideal (it’s a 7 where skin is PH 4.5-5.5 and because PH is logarithmic that’s a big difference) and has sulfates which are harsh despite the lack of foaming. Don’t do it, so many better options. And Dior skincare... yikes. They need to stick to makeup and other designer stuff. Their products are full of irritating fragrance and no beneficial ingredients. And then they charge these absurd prices. Isntree, Cosrx, Purito, Iunik, Pyunkang Yul, and Tosowoong... all inexpensive Korean brands that are fragrance free and full of great ingredients. I actually feel bad for this girl, with her budget she could at least go with expensive med spa type brands like Skinmedica.

Now tho you can get amazing ingredients and not pay a lot thanks to Korean and Japanese brands. 5 years of Asian skincare has changed my skin without a doubt and I love that it’s more accessible now for people getting into it. It’s just laughable to me that Dior would copy a Korean Essence and charge so much for so little.

Yep the coconut esters in that first cream she used are nice and occlusive and will do a great job at blocking absorption of those other products haha. Ahhh awful. Then using a sheet mask and mist last... they’ll just evaporate and worsen trans epidermal water loss. The only point I would disagree with is the sheet mask part, I think that really depends on skin type. You never want to wear a mask once it’s starting to dry because it can do the opposite of what you want but there’s a reason they sell silicone mask covers so that they don’t dry out and you can wear them longer. My skin leans dry/dehydrated and I don’t see a lot of benefit from 20 minutes but get way more benefit from 1-2 hours of sheet masking. Longer masking sessions noticeably plump and hydrate my skin (visually and with a skin analyzer) and 1 hour is very common amount those who use sheet masks too. I’ve been sheet masking for long periods for 5 years now and only seen benefit just from my own experience. But I can see how an oily or normal skin type may find that too much.
@fennfie5 жыл бұрын
I'm a 1 hr masker myself and so 2 different sheet masks daily. Even with oily skin i feel with the right targeted type of masks, 45mins to 1hr show much better results than just the typical 20 mins.
@skinsciencebymira5 жыл бұрын
daphne liew agreed. I was surprised to hear that as sheet masks originate in Asia and many people wear them longer. 20 minutes may be what’s best for her skin though and I agree that leaving a mask on overnight where it will dry out without a mask cover and not locking it in with a moisturizer is counterproductive.
@fennfie5 жыл бұрын
@@skinsciencebymira oh definitely never let a mask dry completely on the skin. And honestly i never find any sheet mask hydrating enough to the point where i can ever skip moisturiser so those who claim they don't need to moisturise after a sheet mask must either be super oily or they enjoy having the feeling of a non-moisturised skin. I am the sort who slathers on my serums and creams and balms and like waking up with a film of something still on my face. So when any product is advertised to absorb instantly and leaves nothing behind, i lose interest immediately. Maybe I'm just weird like that.
@skinsciencebymira5 жыл бұрын
daphne liew even someone oily will get evaporation and worsened dehydration if they only sheet mask or do a mist and nothing after. Unless it contains oils or other occlusive ingredients to hold that moisture in. And agreed, I have an extensive routine and have spent a lot of time making sure all my proven anti aging bases are covered in my routine and I want to make sure I’m really sealing it in so it’s not wasted. And plump glowing skin is very much a Korean skincare thing, once you experience it there’s no going back.

Honestly, so glad to hear you confirm that I have been removing my makeup the right way. I absolutely hate makeup wipes. I always see people using them to remove their makeup and I just don't see how someone would find them enjoyable to use. I realized long ago that it felt like I was rubbing my face too hard with them. I am a huge fan of cleansing balms or cleaning oils. I switch back and forth between the two. Then, I go in with a gentle gel facial cleanser. I honestly don't even like using micellar waters on a cotton pad to remove makeup either. Nothing that leaves me wiping and tugging at my skin.

those neutrogena makeup wipes are like elfin battery acid on my skin. I don't understand why people rely on wipes as much as they do to begin with...BUT..those in particular are nightmare fuel for me.

I use a magic mitt to remove makeup. Is that too much tugging on my skin? I try to be very gentle, I always do it in the shower and I don’t feel like I’m tugging because I use small motions and it usually comes off completely in the first attempt (eye makeup is a different story but I don’t wear eye make up every day). I follow up with cleaning grains (oat, clay, neem mixture), AHA toner, treatment serum and facial oil blend (I don’t use face cream).

For me those nose strips were a "no go " ...I have to admit I also was quilty of using them. Nose strips do remove bleakheads but tear off skin and leave big pores. Melting blackheads is more effective!!! Use BHA&AHA products. Also oils are really good for melting blackheads. You just need to find the right one.

Your kind of reaction while watching the video and mine while watching were exactly the same. Although I don’t put into So many steps, but it is clear and Simple 1. Cleanse/Scrub 2.Toner 3. Moisturiser 4. Lip Balm 5. Sunscreen at Day. The Basic is that CTM I learnt something new from you, that to go with the usual routine after Sheet Masks, where I used to sleep after removing the mask with the serum that penetrated alone. And never carry a one on-board. Thank you so much 😊.

Queen Susan! I was wondering if you had an opinion on Face halos? They are those makeup face towels that take your makeup off with just water. I myself use a cleaning balm first and then a face halo to remove balm is that as bad a wipe on your face?

Serious question: those Mac wipes are super filled with micellar water- are those also bad to use? I've only ever used them in store but I just wanted to know because all this talk of wipes makes me really curious, especially since they don't have any drag

I couldn't understand why she did her skincare routine completely backwards, it didn't make sense to me until I realized that she almost did it the way you would do a makeup routine. Put on moisturizer, then you put on primer, foundation, concealer for problem areas and then set it with a spray... I wonder if that's why she ended with rosewater spray bc it locks in your makeup, and she applies the same thought process to skincare products? I hope she's talking to a dermatologist or esthetician now
