My in laws had the same situation with their poodle and the dog next door. Both families finally agreed to build a bridge over the fence so the two dogs could play and visit anytime they wanted. It worked great. 🦊

Nothing is more aggravating and heartbreaking than having your dog befriend the neighbor dog but the neighbors don't want it to happen.... Had this happen w/ an old neighbor dog until I found out it was never taken care of so I started taking it from the yard without permission, I just said it got over the fence and started playing w/ my dog. 🤫🤭

@@11daemona Puppies can’t be around other dogs for awhile, so they don’t pick up any germs from them. My neighbor got a new puppy and was out walking with it, but my small dog couldn’t get near it or the dogs touch noses. I guess that was the reason, because the neighbor let them play with each other. 🤷‍♀️

I had a male bloodhound. He was hands down the most maternal dog ever. Over a hundred pounds and any creature he would tote it around and lay down trying to tuck it in his folds. A baby human crying in a stroller would almost kill him. He was a mama to another could for over 10 years. It was amazing to behold

The bet the reason for the wait was Cedar needed to be fully vaccinated before interacting with other dogs. Parvo is highly contagious and can be deadly so it’s best to be safe and wait until after a certain time period before socializing.

Everybody needs a best friend. I have a dog who lost her best friend. My other dog MoJo. He passed away this past April. It was devastating to see her so sad as she was only 5 weeks old when I found her and had grown up with him and she is three now and he was 12 …one day she went out in the yard and he wasn’t there,…She was very confused and sad… so after about a week and a half of moping I decided I needed to get her a new best friend… enter Kiya … who is fast, becoming her buddy, and about to surpass her in size😱 Waffles is a border collie shepherd mix kiya is full shepherd… they truly love each other and they play very well together. I’m very happy I got waffles a new friend and so is she.

Reminds me of my folks dachshund & their neighbors with a border collie. At first both were apprehensive but within a week or so, our dog would bolt to the fence & give playful kisses through the gaps. One of the best dogs my family ever had ❤

I got a Golden when I was in 6th grade. My neighbor had a Weimaraner. They became best buds. We lived on the edge of a rural area with fields and woods. The two dogs would take off for the day and be back by dinner time.
