Golden Retriever Training Greensboro NC - Georgie
Georgie is a 10 year old golden retriever that is Kennie's uncle (see Golden Retriever Kennie video). Georgie actually came to me over 9 years ago as a puppy for training. He was here for a refresher and to be a companion for Kennie's stay.
These goldens and another (Freddie) that was previously part of their family came from the same breeder. It is amazing to see the similarities from the bloodline or family tree. You can see Georgie's puppy video here by searching Golden Retriever Georgie (thank you youtube).
When our dog gets older in age and may have movement or pain issues, it is important not to overwork them. Everything is done based on your perception of how they are. Having said that, we still ask them to do what you need when you need it. You still practice from time to time but for a much shorter duration - 5 seconds to 2-3 minutes dependent on the dog. I believe it gives our older dog a job and an earned place in the pack.
