A friend of mine has a black lab that was rescued from a puppy farm, named Lucy. She has severe problems with her hips from being forced to breed, but she's the best dog I've ever met. She's like an endless fountain of love; she'll approach everyone with a big smile and a wagging tail. I think she's afraid of her owner leaving or abusing her but he showers her with affection and they are inseparable. Dogs don't hold grudges, they just love no matter what, which is amazing. Love seeing this beautiful girl make friends that will protect her 💞

It always breaks my heart to see a broken dog, all animals should be loved and Lucy was not. But any dog that goes to the Asher home is absolutely loved and spoiled. He is able to connect, love and heal these traumatized dogs. He seems to speak dog and despite having so many animals (dogs, cats, farm animals, etc) at his sanctuary each one of them is cared for, exercised properly, and absolutely loved and given a safe place to heal. She couldn't have went to a better home.

My Chihuahua girl was from a puppy mill. She was a puppy when I got her in ‘02. She was my baby girl. She was an amazing dog. She passed in 2018 at 16 and a half years old. She’s buried in the back beside her cat brother who helped me raise her. That’s why I can’t leave my place. I can’t leave them. I have two framed pictures of my girl and I carry her picture in my wallet.

Golden retrievers are a gift from God. They are the absolute best dogs. They’re extremely affectionate and protective. When I was a kid I was absolutely horrified of dogs because I got bit when I was like 2 years old. I don’t even remember it but I was just terrified of all dogs. My aunt’s golden retriever immediately broke that fear. It’s like he could sense I was scared but had absolutely no idea it was because of him. 😂 He’d just stand in front of me and lean on me the entire time I was there. If someone came up to me he would move his body so he’d be in between me and the person. Best dog ever. ❤ One day I hope I can own one. They’re absolutely beautiful.

She truly reminds me of our Golden mix from 1995 in Nome Alaska. She was so very sweet. Adopting her was the best decision ever. She crossed at age 17.
