The Warriors didn't just replace Klay, they upgraded from Klay. Buddy can play defense as well as create his own shots, as well as shoot the 3 at a 50 ± percent rate.

Buddy Hield is WAY cheaper than a 35 year old Klay Thompson, who was somewhat of a malcontent last year. 💯 and Hield is also a great 3 point shooter.

They would literally help while guarding tatum as if his not on fire, then they would also rotate & choose horford over tatum who had hit like 2 in a row. They were making other people beat them at first then started letting tatum have his moment smh

This Warriors system is the same system that won multiple titles, but Kerr's tweaked it slightly. Instead of focusing on the starters scoring 80-100pts/game, like the Warriors did w/Steph, KD, Klay & the lineup of death, they're doing what the Pacers did last year. And that is having great depth with a bench that can score 30-50pts/game most nights to relieve the pressure from the starters. During those KD/Warriors yrs it was all about the starters & the bench was just supposed to hold on until the starters got rested & came back into the game... now it's a more balanced complete team effort, not 2-3 superstars carrying everyone else PS: #DubNation #WeBack

I believe he also leads the lakers in turnovers and points on him in defense. Him not getting back on transition has also allowed roughly 5 easy buckets a game. To be top 10 you have to play both ends.

If Shaq and Yao played today, they would be forced to play today's brand of basketball. Shaq cant play bully ball since it would always be an offensive foul. Yao atleast had finesse and shooting. And on the defensive end, Shaq had to go up to defend forwards and centers shooting 3's. Its just how the game is played today.

Shaq in a modern NBA works only IF he has quick hitting moves. Bigs cannot back to basket back down their man while pounding the rock anymore. Few have the skill and even when they do, the defensive blueprint to negate it is well known and every team has the personnel needed to defend it sufficiently (see the Pistons vs Lakers final). Jokic is a rare player that can use it - and even there, it is predicated on his passing skills to keep defenses honest and allow him a couple dribbles.

Plus/minus, or +/- in basketball, is a statistic that measures how many points a team scores or allows while a player is on the court. MJ kinda sucked as a Wiz. They fed him the ball over and over out of reputation, but his efficiency was horrid and he stopped any offensive flow. He was a volume scorer at that point. I watched those games and it was not fun to watch. MJ in 90's with Pip and outside shooting, that was something. Those teams were way ahead of their time.
