Dang, you had a good day on the Metolius. Your first time there? A lot of people struggle their first time on the Metolius. And that brown trout! What a treat that was. I have been fly fishing the Metolius River for nearly 20 years, and I've only caught three brown trout on the Metolius. They get into the river from a nearby lake.

I hooked up on a big brown in that hole your buddy is in over on the bank, above the bridge. It ran and broke off. Browns aren't supposed to be that low in the river, either. For some reason i never see that hole getting fished, but they're always rising there in the evenings.
