Ahh thankyou It's most likely due to my channel only being small and maybe that this particular track isn't that popular. I think from all the tracks I've released so far, Runway seems to be a favourite.

@@mattspence1337 Really? Bunker 2 is probably my favorite track. Strange. Then again my tastes are notoriously odd.

@@Peachrocks5 yeah I quite like this track myself. I've always liked the military snares and the little bongos that run throughout the track.

Another great remake! Unpopular opinion, but I personally really like this track and depot's track too despite the community thinking mostly otherwise, then again I just love this game as a whole haha. Nostalgia does that to you I suppose.

Oh man, I love Depot. I remember back when I was a kid, replaying that level over and over, trying to get a better time. The music for that level is such a banger. Thanks as always for dropping by and listening, I really appreciate it.

They reversed the x themes because it makes more sense given the context of gameplay. Bunker 2 x used in the Bunker 1 level is when you set off an alarm and guards come en masse, not too unlike when you shoot in bunker 2. Bunker 1 x is when the Goldeneye is activated and you need to escape, there’s usually no one left to kill you. As for the stealth mechanics it’s even worse when you figure out enemies actually spawn when you make noise rather then simply being alerted. Enemies stand still and simply spawn a clone to seek out the noise, that’s why rooms still have guards in them later.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying in regards to the X tracks. Both X tracks are faster in tempo and give that sense of urgency. Is what you're saying Fact? Or is it just something you believe to be true?
@Peachrocks5 Жыл бұрын
@@mattspence1337 Not fact sorry if I gave that impression. Just seeing as the way I think as logical. May be a genuine mistake on their part but I doubt this. Both give a sense of urgency but the cause of said urgency is different. The drums of bunker 2 are of a 'military' nature which makes sense with bunker 1 x being triggered during an alarm which draws in guards, however Bunker 1s base theme and to a lesser extent its x theme are that of 'stealth and secrets' and when the x theme goes off for Bunker 2, Ouromov has activated the Goldeneye to fire on Severnaya. If you tried to play them to the level they were attached to (i.e used Bunker 1 X in Bunker 1 and vice versa) it wouldn't feel right. At least not to me.
@mattspence1337 Жыл бұрын
@@Peachrocks5 ahh I see what you're saying, I suppose it kind of makes sense. I released them this way just as they flow better into their X tracks as they use the same instruments and for most part the same melody. I feel like it wouldn't feel right cause its just what you're used to when playing the level. If they would've released the game with the X tracks switched around, we wouldn't have thought "oooh, Bunker 2 x would sound better in the other Bunker level" Thanks for your insight though, it is interesting to see how others may interpret or understand something.
@Peachrocks5 Жыл бұрын
@@mattspence1337 I agree with the way you did it. I think when doing the soundtrack do it the way in which is the correct 'collection' but the reasons they switched them around do kinda make sense. Assuming that they did. It's impossible to know whether we would have thought if tracks were put the 'right' way it would have sounded 'wrong' because our knowledge is tainted by experience. Still Rare at the time were geniuses and thought about this sort of stuff when most others did not, so I would say that in testing they thought it didn't sound right but again speculation. Hell we didn't even know they were called 'x' tracks until Perfect Dark and many levels only had the tracks play in multiplayer. Somewhat true for Perfect Dark but less true, almost all of the X tracks get used in the single player game.

YES! Always a great day when one of these comes out. Especially that it came out on my birthday. I love how you added the surface II sound when he enters the bunker, it truly just shows how amazing and dedicated you are at making these. Although when listening I think the snare drums kind of take out the 'Stealth' vibe from this song but it doesn't really matter when it blends in well with the other instruments. And as well for the X version this was one of my favorite X songs and I'm glad you took the time to get the song down and really hammer the nail. There isn't else much I can say that I haven't said in your other remakes, but I CANNOT wait to here Streets when it comes out in a few months, as long as you keep up what you're doing you could turn out to be a legendary cover artist as if you weren't one already, well done!
@mattspence1337 Жыл бұрын
Ohh, Happy Birthday bud! I tried to get this one out a little quicker as I realised I've been releasing them like 1 a month. Ahh, man I really appreciate your kind words! It's always a pleasure to see regular people like yourself dropping by and commenting. In regards to the snares, do you mean how they sound in the OST itself, or in this remake? I'm just trying to take any criticisms into account as once I've finished all the tracks, I'm gonna go back and make a few tweaks and changes before I release the entire OST in one video.
@prestongehrig2824 Жыл бұрын
@@mattspence1337 Ah sorry I forgot to specify what I meant. The snares are just noticeably a lot louder and hard-hitting in this than the regular so it sounds more intense as if you got caught and are just shooting the infinite guards like in the game. But either way the drums are my favorite instrument so that's usually what I listen to first when listening to any song and are probably what I critique the most, everything else I listen to and see if it blends well and fits with the drums due to the rhythm, the melody and just the sound in general in which I can say you absolutely nailed. In my opinion I believe with any song Percussion is the most important and it isn't until you take it out of a song that you realize without it, it just kind of sounds bland and missing something. So the 'stealth' vibe is still kind of there since it's still Bunker II and you remastered with basically higher quality instruments which I love, it just doesn't have the vibe as much due to it sounding more 'Intense' which is what I kind of noticed in a lot of your remakes but hey that's what Goldeneye is all about and I'm all up for it because I feel like drums are not appreciated as much considering it's more of a 'background' in music but you are doing way beyond par with finding the perfect balance between the loudness and intensity of the drums and the main part or the tune. I wasn't trying to complain but it's more of a acknowledgement I'd say I can't really think of the best word to describe it.
@mattspence1337 Жыл бұрын
@@prestongehrig2824 man, I love this comment so much!! I'm of the same opinion when it comes to percussion, I grew up playing drums so that's something I always listened out for. I feel like adjusting my ears to the other instruments has been a difficult one, especially when it comes to the levels in the mix, as I've always wanted the drums/percussion to be just a slight bit louder than they were in the originals. Listen man, as much as I appreciate the kind words, I also appreciate any criticism. I started doing these remakes just over a year ago with only minimal experience when it comes to composing and mixing music, so it's all been and still is a learning experience with me. I just want to do these songs justice the best that I can.
