This show should tell TV producers something. You dont have to cussing in a show or movie to enjoy it. Who knows at the people all over the world who never get tired of watching The Andy Griffith show. I think i watch them every day. And it doesnt matter how many times ive watch them they are away just as good as the first day i seen them. Some times i have been in tears thinking about them being gone. If the world could live together like they did on TV just think how much better things could be around each other today. Wow I would have love to have met them in person. I guess we can see no matter how good we are to people someone is always going to get upset with us even if its not our fault.

We still watch it every day. The only down part of it was Helen. He would have been better off with any female he went with.

I am 75 and still watch this show daily. I remember one episode when Miss Crump got mad at Andy because his sexy cousin came to town and he was paying attention to her. She got angry at him for practically nothing.

For a different side of Andy Griffith, you may want to watch "A Face in the Crowd." I watched it for probably the first time a few years ago. Wow, he deserved an Oscar for his performance as the lead character: A sort of no-good guitar playing singer who gets discovered & becomes a wildly popular singer and entertainer, espousing all kinds of down-home boy makes good values, but who only cares about himself and uses everyone around him. His abuses are hidden until the woman who promoted him decides that the public should know what a selfish jerk he really is and how much he actually disdains his adoring fans. Griffith, very convincingly plays this despicable person. It was sort of a shock from his character in"The Andy Griffith Show."

I watched that too on AMC and was kind of surprised at watching him play such a despicable character.

Truly a classic The Don Knotts show is what it was. Griffith couldn't handle being over shadowed by superior talent.

That’s not true. They were great friends and Andy depended on and appreciated their chemistry that was the heartbeat of the show.

The show was and is a beloved show of mine from my childhood and definitely serves as "TV comfort food." The laughs never grow old. As an adult, I was always thrilled whenever I came across it on retro channels or I could find it to stream. The "small town" or really just simple values & morals, seen through relationships, of consideration for others and importance of "doing the right thing" is timeless. My mother, always the watchdog of what we watched in our younger days, never had to think twice about us watching Andy Griffith. I hope younger generations can appreciate this legendary television slice of "Americana pie" and appreciate its soft life lessons and what is some of the best comedy writing and acting in classic TV-land.

The show was never the same when Don Knotts left. I won't watch the episodes when they got the new deputy Warren. He tried, but was never going to be another Barney.

Andy wasn't wrong. As both are elected officials, the Mayor holds no power over a Sheriff. If anything, it's the other way around.

The writers disliked and did not understand the female characters, dehumanizing them, and revealing the writers skewed vision . I personally understood that because I was unable to obtain a credit card under my own name.
