There’s a few videos where people harvest, chop up, and stuff in jar, cover with vodka and hide it away for couple months. Hardly nobody has a follow up video or pulling it out of cabinet and straining it, and bottling it in dropper and how the best way to take it is. Can you make part 2 please?

I love his little critters too. I used to forage for Goldenrod with my little sht-su buddy Peanuts. I just lost the little rascal after 13yrs of loving him. And watching him with his little dog running around made me smile too. I'm learning a lot about making the tentures and teas and such and it helps me make use and teaches me techniques to preserve the wonderful plants like Goldenrod and I like to preserve and not waste any of the jewl weed I have growing around the house. I used to say "howdy do down dare little buddy" when Peanuts ran up to me. Happy Goldenrod foraging

The Golden Rod is getting ready to bloom in my garden in rural Eastern Washington State USA . I can't wait to make a tincture. I have Mullein tincture I'll be bottling up today. It's been in the pantry in the dark for almost 3 months. I made a wonderful Plantain salve this Summer that has helped with wasp stings, itchy rashes, sores, burns, dry skin etc. My sister calls it a miracle salve and it kind of is. I was surprised you use water in the Golden Rod tincture. I use 100 proof Vodka which is 50% alcohol and 50% water so the Golden Rod gets plenty of water to do it's thing. I learned from April Graham of SHE IS OF THE WOODS (KZbin). I'll be subbing to your channel as well.

My eyes and nose runs nearly yr round, sine we moved north to NE Oklahoma. Rare oddity, though, I might sneeze only 1-3X a year. I found Goldenrod, Mullen, and Yarrow along side roads and gathered an abundance from local DG down the road, couple yrs back. I spread it, Mullen, Echinacea, Yarrow, and Bee Balm throughout my open areas, around the trees. It’s not a great abundance, but enough for me to harvest to make tinctures and dried for teas, for our close family and friends. Does it not also mold/turn bad w/adding water to fresh, raw plant matter?

Hi there Gloria, oh yes indeed I do. Did you know that all soap is lye soap? I’ve tried to dig it up and every little piece of root starts a new plant. So any gardener thinking of planting it in your garden - beware! Great medical plant but harvest it some where else.
