Works perfectly. Just be careful to keep presser foot lowered when quilting foot is attached. (i.e. threading a new bobbin). If plastic foot, it will shatter, if metal you might throw your machine out of alignment.

This is also what’s referred to as a Ruler Foot, and can be used to do ruler work quilting. I have one I bought from y’all and it works GREAT for ruler work!!

Hello there. Is it the same way of lowering the feed dogs you showed in this video that applies to other industrial sewing machines? Just turning the stitch length to 0 will lower the feed dogs in any industrial sewing machine?

I had the same issue with my DDL 8700 when I first started FMQ with it. It's called "flagging". Try a hoop to keep the fabric taut and there are embroidery feet with small openings that really help too. Good luck & don't give up!

Hello I free motion on my 8700. Lossen the top tension and get a extra bobbin case just for this ( do not mess with original bobbin case it is too hard to set it back for regular sewing, ask me how I know!)and loosen the screw in it just a hair and then keep trying untill you loosen the right amount to get stitch quality you desire. Remember just a very very tiny amount at a time in bobbin case. If you lose the screw it's impossible to find. Also I do not remove my feed dogs the machine was not meant for that it works better to just lower stitch length to zero. It took me a couple days to figure out tension. Also I kept track of how much I turn the top tension everytime I moved it so I could set it back to normal when I was done (i.e.)1/4 turn to left and so on. Hope that made sense

This absolutely will not work on my Juki DDL5550N. The machine will not make stitches. I’ve tried with the foot lowered all the way and the needle bar pressure all the way down and nothing. My machine sees perfectly with any other foot on but will not make stitches with either of these. I purchased both the metal and plastic. Love Gold Star Tool but these feet aren’t worth anything. So I’m out $40. I’ll just purchase another long arm machine.

I struggled to get an antique Singer to free-motion stitch. The ruler foot is designed to hover over the fabric, not ride down on it. My Singer would not make stitches consistently with the ruler foot. A "hopping" foot helped tremendously, which puts the foot firmly on the bed when the needle meets up with the bobbin case, but hops up between stitches. You have to move slowly and steadily with steady tension on the fabric -- rubber "quilting" gloves help. Setting the stitch length to 0 only keeps the feed dogs from pulling forward and backward, but they normally cycle up and down, so it should be possible to move the fabric. It would have been better to have someone more familiar with free-motion sewing / quilting to do this video.
