Fun fact, Golduck actually had/has niche use in ubers/ restricted Doubles with its cloud nine ability able to stop weather effects without taking up a restricted slot. It has proven to be really useful there.

This use is exactly why I had a Golduck on my team in gen 7 VGC. Shutting off Desolate Land and then using Surf/Hydro Pump gave Golduck a niche use of annihilating all the Primal Groudons I was seeing online at the time.

Fun fact, it was originally named Golduck because in the 1910s there was a famous train burglar that could use psychic powers to predict when trains were carrying valuable gold. He also would wear a t shirt that had a printed mallard on it which made him become infamously identified as the "Gold Duck". Its just very much not unique enough as a swift swimmer unfortunately. It can't compete with Swift Swimmers like Ludicolo and Kingdra because they have a good second STAB and are neutral to grass and electric. It doesn't end there though because it has to compete against another pure water type swift swimmer in Barraskewda who is not only faster and stronger but also has a strong (and stronger than Golducks own) flip turn for momentum and important reliable coverage with CC, while Golduck has the unreliable Focus Miss if it can even fit that into its moveset without giving up on Nasty Plot. It really should have been Water/Psychic to at least have another nice STAB Move, although it does add a Knock Off und U-Turn weakness to it

Bad ass build! I have pretty good luck using cloud 9 Golduck with assault vest max hp and special attack. Surf, icy wind, clear smog, and flip turn. It's actually really good and can clear stats, deal with weather setters, and tank special hits better than you'd expect. Icy wind and flip turns a pretty good combo too

Psychic fangs obliterate infernape, zamazenta, among us etc You can swap out any of these for close combat or extremespeed, but this set is made for bringing in on Tailwind or Sticky Web once the threats which can take an attack from this have been taken care of. You can also bring it in on prankster screens or Alolan Ninetails and let it setup the screens and kill it with the head smash, then break through when they bring in the zamazenta with Psychic Fangs. Once Arcanine is in and the enemies have to switch in on attacks, if they have no priority, you have won the game as Head smash 2-shots gliscor and you break through everything even after intimidate. You still kill Dondozo after rocks with tera wild charge. A good partner is Ribombee for webs and Toxapex with Haze, Toxic, Lunge, and Recover or Ting Lu with whirlwind and stealth rock

Day 1 of asking Hayden to use wide lens H-Lili with Triple Axel, Axe Kick, Vdance, and an optional fourth move, I use synthesis, I gave it chlorophyll for situational boosts, but you can make a team revolving completely around that. Also, it’s maxed in attack and speed with Jolly. Use any Tera it doesn’t matter for the set I go Dragon as a def one.
