Thank you for taking the trouble to do this video. Very useful and a great help before I use the system for the first time.

Thank you. I did it many months ago for members of my golf club. Its great that others have found it useful. There is an official England Golf version that was released a couple of months ago.

Hi Brian, thanks for this video. It’s registering that’s proving to be a problem. A lot of our members are having trouble with it.
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER2 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank I did this video for members at my own golf club. There should be no issues registering for MYEG. To do it a member must have a valid WHS CDH plus they must be using the email address and Date of birth that are held on the WHS platform. Has that all been checked for the members who cannot register? Those are the usual issues plus of course some people try to register when they don’t even have a handicap index. If its not these then it might be worth contacting your golf union representative.

thanks brian, but how about we integrate it with garmin golf wearing and using garmin devices, how do we get stats from those automation products into this myeg app. Basically how do we enter a score as we play is it really only possible to do this manually
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER6 ай бұрын
@@6GSF Hi I did this video over three years ago and things have moved on with MYEG since. However MYEG is the system where golfers in England record scores directly to WHS and it is integrated at Dot golf level. It works on Android and IOS devices. There are many issues that Garmin would have to address. First to have MYEG on the device but also then have to replicate MYEG on devices. For this they would need to have a developer and iSV licences which I doubt they would wish to do. My opinion only and I do use a Garmin S42 to record my own on course performances.

@@BRIANFAIRBROTHER thanks brian much appreciated, so there is no way of automating scores into MYEG or WHS, ie with any on course app? Ive been using golfshot for ages and garmin epix alongside it. Just wondering as its all a bit unclear. many thanks again
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER6 ай бұрын
@@6GSF There are no course apps that integrate into MYEG and I doubt if any ever will. For info there are none that integrate with the US equivalent that is known as GHIN and unlike in England where MYEG is free you have to pay an annual subscription for GHIN. Another issue with golfshot and all the other apps is that they don’t have any form of score verification method. Hence why in MYEG you have to have an attestor. It’s all about integrity of the handicap system
@6GSF6 ай бұрын
@@BRIANFAIRBROTHER thank you, ok manual it is. it all depends on the viewpoint regarding verification, no system is foolproof because we've all come across some bizarre handicaps at competitions have we not! thanks again and keep enjoying your golf 😃

It’s a shame that you have had to post this, though thanks anyway for a great job. This is the responsibility of my England golf and shows the short comings of most institutions how the confusing and I’ll structured things are. If I’m wrong on this I’m wrong! Please tell me where it states that you start entering your scores and info prior to the round starting. I thought you have to manually fill out a card and do all the info at the end. Needs to be made clearer. Again thank you for you efforts
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER Жыл бұрын
I posted this video nearly two years ago. Under WHS rules MYEG works the exact same way that a paper card works. Using a paper card you go in a pro shop and pre-register your round getting your card time and date stamped. Using MYEG you download the course card BEFORE you go out to play. You can then enter your scores at the end of play and have them attested. I state that in the video. The first point is that you don’t have to watch it. The second point is that out of over 7000 views yours is the only negative comment. The whole point of MYEG is that it removes the need for a manual card. A year after I did this England Golf posted a similar thing.

hi Brian - great app and great video.. question: in the myEG dashboard what is the meaning if the amber and green dots .. counting and non counting scores .. these amber non counting scores i assume are not rejected scores but maybe when someone plays a round thats to high or low score ?? or ?
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER3 жыл бұрын
Nearly right Erik. The amber dots are scores in your last 20 rounds that are “at that moment in time” not counting towards your index. The green dots are scores that are counting towards your index. No submitted scores are ever rejected but high scores may never count in the 8 out of 20. Please remember it is the “score differential figure” that counts. For example it is possible for someone to have a gross 80 and it may not count in the averages because a gross 81 is counting. The reason being is that the Course ratings on which the scores took place may be totally different. Its Course ratings that have the biggest effects on handicaps
@erike43443 жыл бұрын
thx Brian also just found an article explaining that the best differentials are used and not just the lowest score so course handicap etc have influence.. appreciate you taking the time to reply

Thanks for the video Brian. Me and my friend are both looking to gain a handicap, can we ‘attest’ each other if we’re both members of the iGolf subscription without a handicap?
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER3 жыл бұрын
I understand that the way iGolf works is that you sign up for it and pay your monthly fee. At that point there will be no handicap assigned until you start submitting scores. You will submit 54 holes of scores based on 18 or 9 hole scores on courses that are officially rated. If both you and your friend are using the iGolf then you will be able to attest each other.

Thanks Brian a great video so it's prompted the following. We've been using the MyEG app for sometime with general play on away courses. One thing that nobody seems to know with any certainty is this: Is it still necessary to post a card of your away course(s) general play into your home course's card box when completing the MyEG app? Also, is there any limitation on how long (number of days) this might be? Examples; we've been on a X-day society trip or just a 1 day, and don't return to our club for maybe 4 or more days after returning? The attested general play results appears on the EG app and reflected on the HDID handicap index certificate simultaneously overnight -- so, a delayed card posting would appear to be unnecessary - but is it? 🤔 Would appreciate your clarification and thanks again?
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER3 жыл бұрын
Hi. If you score has been “attested and approved” by you fellow MYEG users then there is absolutely no requirement to post your cards to your home club. At the moment you may find at Scottish and Welsh courses that you cannot use MYEG so yes you sign your cards and post to your club (my members take photos of the card and send to me on email). This also applies if you play at courses outside the UK such as Spain. Using Spain as an example if you play at a course then note the tees you played off and your handicap chairman can enter your scores using the WHS portal. Hope that helps.

So there is no way of just submitting a scorecard? You have to manually do it in real time? That's weird. It should have the option to enter a completed scorecard, and then require that it is confirmed by someone else. This seems unnecessary and convoluted
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER2 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to manually do it in real time. You download the digital card before you start your round and then submit your completed scores at the end of the round with your attestors name in your submission. They then confirm it. I say that in the video
@zzzzz777712 жыл бұрын
@@BRIANFAIRBROTHER I saw you say they confirm the score, but I didn't hear you say you don't need to enter scores around the course. Does the other player that confirms the score have to have a handicap? Can they just be a member of the igolf and in the process of getting one but still confirm the score or is it only valid after they've got a HC?
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER2 жыл бұрын
The other golfer has to be a registered MYEG user. Which means they need a valid CDH. So yes they also need a valid handicap which could be an igolf CDH. One of the major points now is that if you do submit a score via MYEG and for some reason your attestor does not approve the score or if you decide to not bother after downloading the score card then you will attract a penalty score. I monitor members at my club. If they attract 3 or more penalty scores then I will suspend their handicaps as it is regarded as a way they may be manipulating their handicap.
@zzzzz777712 жыл бұрын
@@BRIANFAIRBROTHER firstly, thanks for explaining it to me. Its much appreciated. I asked because I have a CDH number and I'm on the App, but I've not yet got a handicap on there because I've not put in enough rounds, so wasn't sure if I could attest to someone's score.

Is it restricted to playing courses in England? On a trip to Wales and would like to add casual scores in . Is that possible?
@BRIANFAIRBROTHER3 жыл бұрын
I have not seen Welsh or Scottish courses on the app. However you can save your signed and dated course cards and they can be inputted to the WHS platform by your handicap chairman. I guess you know that.
