Bought both, as the Wilson CB's had a frustrating delivery situation. Both came on the same day. Cobra MIM's won for me in the battle of both. Prefer the thinner top line and lie angle. Can't go wrong with either though.

I just purchased a set of 2021 Wilson Staff Model CB’s from 2nd Swing. I was concerned that going to traditionally lofted irons (7 iron 34 degrees) that I would lose significant distance. However, these clubs have the Aerotech i95 steel reenforced shafts. My 7 iron swing speed is 81-82 mph, but I have lost no distance at all. In fact, when I hit these clubs with the sweet spot, I have gained a little distance. I did have 2nd Swing strengthen the lofts by 1 degree, as well as customize the clubs to my specs. I love these clubs!

Thank you for this vid! The Wilson cb is surprisingly good! I'd absolutely game a set. But between it and the zx7 I chose the srixon.

Great video. Currently playing Z785 Srixon Irons. Fantastic irons though low spinner.Since my Handicap Index has dropped to 4.8 from 9.3 within the last 12 months with the Srixons, i feel it's time to go for accuracy and consistency than distance. That will be with a full set of mmc 20.

One thing I want to see in your club comparison videos: which of the clubs would Thomas game if he had to choose one, and why? Give us a sense of what criteria would go into choosing one over the others, not just how they are different and similar.

@@2ndswing Wilson needs a stronger loft version. I’m looking for a new set of irons in the next year. Want a great forged feeling iron. I don’t want to lose distance but I don’t love the sole on the srixon.
@LifeLover20202 жыл бұрын
@@ryang1910 what do you mean lose distance? Lose perceived distance loss because of the lofts? Whether you hit a 7 180 or 200.. it comes down to the loft you’re playing, all things constant. I don’t understand kranking the lofts..
@ryang19102 жыл бұрын
@@LifeLover2020 it doesn’t come down to that. It comes down to optimizing. Bryson plays a 10 degree 3 wood. It isn’t so he hits it further. It is to control spin and launch. Otherwise the ball wouldn’t do that. I like stronger lofted clubs. Mentally they make me feel better. Right now I’m playing a set closer to traditional. I don’t like it. I could afford to do it, because of jump in ball speed.
@LifeLover20202 жыл бұрын
@@ryang1910 Bryson is an example of optimizing at the extremes. I would view him as an outlier. It sounds like you’re optimizing for the mental game. You will get higher ball speeds because the lofts are stronger. It may also be because you are playing an iron that’s more forgiving. What set are you currently playing? Do you have a Ghinn handicap?

Id like to try a set of irons in this category, up till now Ive only ever played game improvement irons from Mizuno. My golf swing has come a long way over the last couple of years. I’m not overly concerned with distance. I’m wondering if a set of the Cobra King Tour’s would help me tighten up my dispersion vs playing game improvement irons.

For it spinning under 6,000 how much does decent angle high enough to hold the green? Thx great video I enjoyed all 2nd swing videos
@2ndswing3 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much height the player can get. If you have only 5500rpm and its coming in low at a landing angle under 40* the ball won't stop as fast but 45*-50* would be just fine. - Thomas

Have you thought about bending so all are the same loft and lie to see individual club performance compared?
@xxthadeucexx3 жыл бұрын
I agree but I think they did it this way so that people who go out and buy clubs in a stock configuration would know what they're up against. Not everyone is going to spend the time/money to have them bent to a specific loft.

Little club repair info. Watch when working on the irons with weights hosel/toe. They are most likely epoxied in. Heat will loosen this epoxy causing a rattle. Most will not be warrantied

from these numbers (dec. ang. spin) the data gives 5,6 and 9 yds of roll-out for the 3 irons, how much roll-out would that be on a real course, lets say a medium green, not super firm or soft?
