Watched this Tuesday, tested out the move-away today and I felt dialed. This was probably the best instructional video I’ve really seen in terms of simplicity because it’s ground zero for the golf swing and the results spoke for themselves for me.

Makes me wonder, I own the straight away and it has helped tremendously but every one of his videos I the same. Is he pushing the gadget or is a bad takeaway that prevalent? Almost everyone in these videos improves so maybe it’s the latter of the two.

I had the chance to meet him at one of the golfzon grand openings the other day, and won the straight away , I worked with it at the range , and can say swing felt different just about every shot was center of the face . so hoping to improve and get my handicap down to mid 5's

Can tell by the placement of the club face....that your backswing is a bit wacky. Gotta hand it to you, though, for bringing in a pro golf coach who will won't sugarcoat the problems with your own swing. You had the openness to do this.....and that is something I few coaches are willing to do.....to learn more about how to play this game well.
@joeidaho59383 ай бұрын
Honestly....so many players I know or see....have bad backswings....resulting in problematic downswings...and especially with longer clubs and driver. Wedges and shorter irons are always a bit more forgiving, esp if not swinging too hard.

@pd99713 ай бұрын
This is the A swing with his swing aid, all you need to do/remember is to keep the clubhead outside the hands the entire time during the backswing and you'll have it down.

Leadbetter is one the people responsible for misleading a generation of golfers. You cannot teach golf through positions. You can fine tune a pro like that, but he has done harm to so many amateur golfers.

The take away is not the most important part lol he's old skool and its clear you can take away the club in 100's of different ways and get the same results.
@Scratch_Monsters_Golf9 ай бұрын
Impact is the most important position, obviously, but the takeaway is a close second. Among pros, they may not all have the same backswing, but they all have a few things in common during the takeaway, such as keeping the face under control and the club head outside the hands. A good takeaway may not guarantee a good shot, but a bad takeaway will absolutely guarantee a bad shot, and the better you get at generating momentum in the takeaway, the more automatic the backswing becomes. He’s definitely old school, but I think most modern coaches would still agree with him when it comes to the start of the golf swing.
@saabtech35109 ай бұрын
Actually, there is merit to what he says. In figure skating or gymnastics, you stick the landing with the takeoff. Jack Nicklaus said that in the first part of the takeaway he knew whether the swing was spot on or not.
@wordclouds29064 ай бұрын
Nick Faldo, Moe Norman put a lot of emphasis on the first move too. Impact is not the most important thing. Why? Because you should not try to hit the ball, that will make you chose the ball as the target of your swing, while the entire swing is the task and the ball should be a coincidence ( paraphrasing Percy Boomer, On Learning Golf, 1941)
@nunyo72594 ай бұрын
@@wordclouds2906 yeah that’s a great story but the take away is still not the most important part. Trackman and video has clearly proven that. Moe Norman was autistic and didn’t know wtf he was talkin about half the time. The epitome of feel is not real.
@wordclouds29064 ай бұрын
@@nunyo7259 Sure, sure, I never said it was, neither do i know much about Leadbetter. I would respond that you play by feel and not by trackman or video - meaning: whatever those show, while helpful, has to be translated back into feel. For me Percy Boomer is the most insightful source - a terrific read, I assure you.
