ANYONE can be a single digit handicap simply by learning to keep score from this pencil whipping dufus. I've really tried to get some enjoyment or value from these videos. But I can find none. He's annoying, He's condescending, He's completely egomaniacal. It's better to be good to play with than to play good. Do you believe that this guy would be good to play with ? Neither do I. I will acknowledge that his general determination of shot selection is usually sound. Something about him makes me want to beat him like a drum. I'm sure that the way his annoying personality effects his playing partners is one of his great strengths. Not being able to tolerate his asinine behavior would be a concern for me.
based on the way this comment is written i would guess you are 10000x more annoying to play golf with than this guy Lol

Hi Matt, As a general rule, if you take a penalty drop it's usually 2 club lengths, no closer to the hole. Free relief is typically 1 club length, no closer. You shortchanged yourself on the unplayable, that extra club length would've changed your lie and available lines to better spots for the next shot. Knowing the rules/options can help all of us in certain situations. Just FYI. Good video.

Great playing! Thinking back to hole 8, when you're laying up, do you always elect to lay back to 120 vs say 50? You hit a solid strike, but came up well short because a 120y shot is going to be a larger shot pattern. What's the magic number where you'd personally rather be closer. For example, I can't imagine you'd prefer a 100yd shot over a 30yd pitch, right? I would think you're proximity gets closer as you get closer to the green. Assuming reasonable distance control, a 10 degree pull on a 40y shot is going to be vastly better than a 10 degree pull on a 100y shot. Obviously there are exceptions, but in general, the data seems to suggest that closer is better.
@GolfSidekick6 ай бұрын
Anything inside 50 or outside 65 is preferable. Between 50-65, i get antsy. Hole 8 is a tough one because i want to be sure of my second shot rather than have any doubt off the firm fairways. Depends on the day but on that hole, if i took the time to work out how far i should really hit it to the right side, id like to get it inside 40-50 On that second shot, 6 iron is my most confident club. So i hit confident club to confident club distance. If i try a 7 wood there, i have a chance of hooking into the water.

@GolfSidekick13 күн бұрын
I think it's normal playa. Your expectations are low and you are so keen to play and enjoy the game again. Every shot is a blessing. Then you advance a bit, and expectation windows move with your better play and the now nothing other than 'scoring better' will do. I find it is always good to take a break around the time you see a slump and get a bit 'high expectatioon' Then i come back after 2-3 weeks and just happy to be out there again enjoying a nice strike or 5. Perspective always changes over the course of a season and your A game becomes your B game, becomes the C game and then we lose hope to ever get the B game back. Just gotta reset and go back to what makes the beginning of the season feel so good
