It's such a good spot to be in. About 2 years ago i started consistently shooting in the high 80s. Then last year got a little more serious about the game. Now I'm breaking 80 once out of every 5 or 6 rounds. The problem is, I'm shooting mid 80s the rest of the time. Lol. With the occasional 80-83. It's tough coming off a 77, only to shoot an 85-86 but. Just need to keep putting in the work.

@@danielowen5889 unfortunately when you hit that 81-84 mark you plateau for awhile. Took me 3 years to break 80 when I was at that level.

Scottish Caddy Proverb - play up and if you are making too many pars and birdies, then move back. I tell my golf buddies this all the time and they still seem to think "I have to play from the back tees to get my money's worth." Instead, all they get is missed greens and high scores. Why pay a lot of money to struggle all day. Move up, enjoy the game more.

One of your best videos ever! I wish I had it before my last round. I played a "good" round last week. It was a new course I hadn't seen yet; beautiful but with lots of water. I took an aggressive approach to smart targets off the tee like you teach and played one ball around the whole course, despite all the water. I didn't break 90 because I either missed the green or chose to lay up to keep myself in play. At the end I felt pretty proud of myself despite the score and had an awesome time with friends I hadn't seen in over 20 years.

Abrupt ending… but I think the last point made everyone should listen to. If your hitting mostly woods and hybrids into par 4’s move up a tee!
@johnhaworth739110 күн бұрын
Your last comment I spot on. If you’re hitting a 6, 5, 4, or hybrid into the green on most of the par 4s, move up a tee. I was doing that and moved up to golds. It made the game a lot more enjoyable.

I played with an 8 handicap round Laem Chabang 13 years ago. He was very aggressive. He went for every shot. He had to hit driver everywhere and hit it as far as he could. He lost 6 balls to water in 4 holes. No matter what you try and teach some people do not possess a golfing brain. They are incapable of assessing a golf hole and making the correct choice. They are incapable of thought.

@@GolfSidekick I saw a video yesterday. A Pro was advising hitting the ball as far as you can and as close to the green as you can because strokes gained says so. I've never seen such bad advice in my life.

@@GolfSidekick Give me a 340 yard hole and over a summer of golf I will average lower than that Pro hitting driver every time. They don't get that birdies are very hard to get but double bogeys are one poor decision away. Handicaps are average, play to lower your average on every hole = lower handicap. Fucking dumb advice from a Pro.

Is the newer version of the red tiger range finder worth the 50 dollar price difference? The white one is 42% off with an additional 10 dollars off. That is a steal
@GolfSidekick10 күн бұрын
The White one is easily the best budget rangefinder by a country mile. With that discount, i don’t think anything can beat that for value. The Black one is moderately quicker with less variance between readings. The White one will vary between 1-3 yards if you shoot the pin 5 times. Not a biggie. The Black one has no variance when you shoot the pin multiple times.
@Dubnlove10 күн бұрын
Thanks playa. I’ll be picking one up. I do not have the distancé control. 1-3 yard variation is no big deal. I’m just about GIOTG.

@GolfSidekick8 күн бұрын
if it blows left to right, aim left if you hit a fade, aim it further left if it blows right to left, aim right if it blows right to left and you hit a fade, aim less right if it is with you, take less club if it is against you, take more club and swing easy dont swing hard if you ride the wind with your shot shape (fade on a left to right wind), the ball goes a little longer on roll out dont try shot shape in the wind, just hit your shot right or left depending on the direction its about being conscious no one can tell you exactly how because your spin, your shot shape, your swing speed, your launch angle will determine how. you need to be mindful and start analyzing what is happening and adapt
