Sopranos has a lot of comedy and it's a watered-down, dolled-up version of what real mafia life is like. You have to appreciate it for what it is. Gomorrah is much more realistic as it's depicting real events with the names changed for obvious reasons. Of course, it's still a fiction and the writers take many liberties, but as a faithful representation of mafia life, it's way better than sopranos. Just comparing how Naples is depicted in both shows, you can tell that the American show doesn't really grasp the scope and history of the Camorra. In the Italian one, you see Naples for what it really is - a dump where rules are dictated by criminals-.
