For the longest time people would claim that in no way would adult Gon defeat post-nuke Meruem. But a lot of people fail to understand that the nen-pact Gon had made was in relevance to his goal. Enough power to absolutely destroy Pitou. This is the beauty of the authors writing. Gon did not care about destroying the other ants. He knew they needed to go but he only ever cared about his selfish desire to destroy Pitou for killing kite. If it had been Meruem that awoken and killed Kite, then it would of been Gon completely annihilating Meruem normal or post-nuke instead of Pitou. The nen-pact was made to destroy his enemy plain and simple. And the whole chimera ant arc was made for the single purpose of showcasing the question of who is really the monster/beast? And what does it mean to be human?

I actually heard that the author hates Gon because of the corner he has written himself into with the character. One thing I never see people talk about is that Meruem does not feel any pain. He didn't even wince when his arm was torn off. Netero was definitely damaging him but he had a pain immunity. Though going by visual damage, it seemed like Netero was not damaging Meruem. Great Video btw!!!

Nope... Netero couldn't hurt him. Towards the end the attacks started taking a toll. He states this during the fight. He can feel pain. Netero just literally could not hurt him in the beginning

2 things. 1. Pitou said 2 different things about Gone compared to the Ant king. In the Anime it was alluded that Gone was AT the level of the Ant King. but the _manga_ merely stated that Gone would more or less be trouble for him/able to damage him. 2. GONE WAS NOT COUGHT OFF GUARD BY PITOU'S CORPSE!! He LET his arm be torn off. Both because he thought he deserved it, and to look/be more like Kite. Him stating "it doesn't even hurt" is proof enough that he allowed it to happen, and is calming his best friend by telling him "it's ok. I know you're shocked at what just happened, but i wanted this. Besides, it doesn't even hurt"

Agree. Mereum was simply growing each second. He has enough durability to take on a couple of hits. If Gon's Jajanken is just within Netero's Zero Hand, then Mereum can just take it and manage. If Gon cannot finish him early, Mereum will have time to learn his nen ability, that is if Gon would be a threat to him. Mereum never needed to grow further against Netero. That in itself was a testatment to how far Mereum was compared to the strongest the hunters can offer. If Gon can only use a single type of attack that Mereum can survive, Mereum will surpass him in seconds.

Pre rose Meruem would lose, Gon's speed surpassed Netero because Meruem can see netero but it was in slowmo, same for Pitou when he got sent flying by Netero but adult Gon vanished from Pitou's perspective, his eyes couldnt even follow him. Also Gon's jajanken is stronger than you think because the last attack that gon did caused so much destruction and remember he was missing an arm that means his attack is not an enhanced fist but an emitter attack causing his raw power not to be focused in one area to cause maximum dmg to a single target.

Meruem is actually an emitter with poor nen control (he just has a fuck ton of it) so if he actually trained his nen in any capacity and especially in that category it's hard to imagine him losing without a fight: he was literally a child with even less nen and battle experience than Gon. Adult Gon vs Adult Meruem would be a fight from that framework for sure BUT that's only if we don't recognize the hints that Gon is likely not human and canonically was temporarily the best enhancer in all of hunterxhunter history during his "adult" phase and that his true potential is beyond it

That is not really an 100% guarantee. Don't forget that the exorcist guy during Greed Island arc was also at Ultimate Level for his affinity and we know for sure that he is not even at the top 50 of strongest. But yes, adult Gon is surely at the top 10 (since we still don't know about Ging and if the others in Dark continent). Also, Mereum in that has not even used his affinity. He only used physical strength against Netero. The feats of adult Gon was still below the Rose Bomb's destructive power. Did he stood a chance against base Mereum, probably.

I have a theory that don is a time traveler that posses a tool from the DC that allows him to ,and is writing the books of the DC from different moments in time hence why he may know the fate of humanity and his bloodline which he stated to netero. My theory also expresses how I think Don traveled back in time giving Ging Gon and the book written on the dark continent before disappearing again. It's possible Gon's body could be housing a calamity but he does have the genetics of two prodigal hunters so im somewhat 50/50 on that. He did manage to age himself almost 20 years entirely through his NEN in order to have the power to crush pitou which in my eyes is a power only someone/something laying dormant in an entire different timeline may be able to accomplish. Yes it almost killed him ,stubbed his potential and possibly took his nen but we have no clue if anyone else in the story could do what he did so he alone holds that incredible feat.

My wish, if Gon were to ever get his nen back, is that when Killua wished for Gon to become normal, the amount of nen Gon had in his adult form became his new "normal". This boundless nen would surely be to much for his young, untrained body to handle or so it compacted and sealed itslef into a stable form. One which cannot be controled, essentially removing all of his nen powers. If Gon were to regain the center of the series he'd have to gradually retap this power and go beyond it. But this is all my silly headcannon which will likely never come true.

Had an idea for an additional ability that gon could use. Called it late draw and its based off how in rock paper scissors if u draw even a split second later, you can tell what move the opponent will make and counter it. It employs manipulation, by creating an en circle around him and when something enters the radius, it automatically makes his body use rock, paper, or scissors (depends on properties like speed, if its human or nen and that stuff). It has 2 advantages since it grants him immunity to other manipulation techniques as hes manipulating his own body and he has a good defensive option that protects him from being speed blitzed
