When only one parent is present yes there is extraordinary amount of love but at some point all kids go through a rebellious phase from the authoritative person in their life. And subconsciously the dad already represents escape so a lot of kids are drawn to that known unknown which is their absentee dad. I'm not saying that most kids do actively go searching for their dad's, but that if given the chance as Gon was, they wouldn't know enough about life or people to not do as Gon did

Not for this specific question but there are plenty of similar studies that revealed children tend to hold the absent parent in a higher regard because they can associate the negative aspects of parenting on the one that is present. It isn't until the child develops an actual sense of causality that they can go back and properly attribute everything retrospectively

So after all this time and watching HxH twice I’m just considering the scene where ging was riding a monster, riding a monster. Neither one of those creatures have been seen in the mainland ever or anything of that size period besides the world tree birds. Maybe Ging was already in the Dark continent and that’s why no one could find him in the first place and the only reason he came back was because he knew the events following the chimera any arc would take place where his presence was crucial. If netero gave him the east edition with the intent for him to go after his death then an expedition back there would be obvious, hence he would get to go right back.

What if the Freecss family ability is something like a save transfer or cloning. They might create their next generation from nen or if they are born biologically they're marked as the next. Once the previous generation dies all the save data/info transfers to the next generation. From Don -> Ging and when ging dies Gon recieves all the accumulated knowledge. It could explain Ging's ridiculously advanced abilities since his childhood.

At the beginning of the series, when Mito asks Gon why he wants to become a hunter, he says he wants to do it to go find his dad, and says it must be a great job if it's worth leaving your son behind for. She then says "it's just as I thought, you're just like your father" and smiles. Literally right at the beginning of the story they confirm why Ging became a hunter. Not sure why no one ever talks about this.

This makes me wonder that since Ging doesn't seem to be worried about Gon being able to regain his nen that eventually Gon could regain the ability to use it, afterall he already has the necessary lessons he was tought to master it or even learn it, assuming that knowledge hasn't left him he can do it again but this time naturally, and in doing so may very well make him even stronger than before, especially since he gained back essentially not only all the nen he used in the fight but the years he lost of his life as well...AND survived long enough from basically being in pain far worse than death for possibly hours to days. Being in such a state would likely also make him almost immune from feeling pain as my guy literally was undoubtedly in the most pain any one person could ever be in no matter the means of torture or such...this also makes me wonder if since Gon did survive his contract with his Nen if he will retain the amount of strength he had at the time of using it when he gains it again, and can learn and grow from that very level. Such a feat as well as surviving said contract and gaining its power would likely put him on par with a great majority of the Zoldik family combined, leaving Gon with only one thing left to do, which is expand his mind (cause lets be honest our guy literally has been struggling to use the damn thing since season 1)

Gin isn't worried about Gon Because his Nen could be like Hisoka, Remember when Hisoka Pleaded to his (bungi gum) to restart his heart? well the same could be for gon only that gon was in a thin line between life and death, In hunter x hunter they said Nen Stays in there world if the users emotions were very strong after passing Hisoka died thus making bungigum more powerful to the ponit he can recover lost limbs and skin and Gon's enhancement could have come with a cost if he lived through the sacrifice he made to kill Pito.

A one time pain experience won’t make you immune to pain. Killua (and his siblings probably) endured it over many years with the intend to be resistant to pain and poisons. We also don’t know if he was conscious during this state. Gon is not affected by post mortem nen since he was never dead so the only thing he gained from this experience is that he needs to gain control over his emotions and tame his recklessness. That’s at least my take on it. But I agree with the rest of your comment, especially that ging didn’t seemed too worried about gons situation right now.

@@d3rduck For Killua as well you seem to be leaving out a critical factor, that being in his time being tortured they did it slowly and over the course of a long time to make sure it stuck, but if your hit with something like Gon did almost instantly, then your bound to build a pretty decent tolerance to it no matter how long nor short, big or small what happened to him. He may not have done it in the same way but that doesn't necessarily matter in the end. Even one time experiences, especially with death, tend to have both positive and negative effects. In gons case it may mostly just be positive since he wasn't entirely awake the whole time he was a shriveled prune but again, the body would remember and build itself up from that if it survived, similar to how Killua's did over a long period of time.

@@keyblade408 I think your digging a bit too deeply into it, especially with your point being that Gon must be somewhat similar to Hisoka since both died...thing is Gon didn't actually die, he was about to, but he didn't. In Hisoka's case he does actually die but in gons case he wasn't even able to get to such a point for us to find out. You may have me validation but generally as of right now we'll have to wait and see whenever Gon returns to the setting to see if his near death experience changed him in any way at all or even boosted him once he was helped to recovery.

For more context Killua didn't become a hunter the first time around due to outside interference from his brother, not because his skill wasnt good enough. In fact had he not been going through difficulties he would have passed... I get the point being made, however Killua becoming a hunter the second time around was super **OverKill** which was why no one else passed during his exams.

What even IS Specialization? One Theory of what its 'meant to be' is whats supported by the Conclusions one can draw from the Question "What even is the '''special''' Part of Pitous Abilities?". Where and for what is Specialization used by Pitou?' An Option is that Part of this Nen-Type is to basically mimic One Single Thing another Type could do. So basically it would be the 'Freedom'-Type and the Point of it or at least a large Portion of the Point would be to have an 'Efficiency-Bonus'. Its best explained by using Examples: Take Morel for Example. If a Speicalist wanted Deep Purple, one of the 3 Types/Ingredients would be Swwapped-out for Specialization and therefore be used at 100%. So wanting Morels Ability, a Specialist would logically use his Type instead of Transmutation to make the Smoke. If its more than 1, that would be totally unfair and i reject that.

What if there are humans in the dark continent, the first humans. Gon and Ging and all the family are the first humans that created the continents and the weak world with the weak humans. The gon mother lives in the dark continent for sure. Ging can use so many abilities becouse he is linked to the dark continent and can use his nen abilities.

@@nenmaster5218 I think that specialization being so powerful and rare it's one of the few flaws of the system. It's unfair to become so strong by simply being a specialist. Also all the other categories should be able to reach it. This ability should cover, as the name say, all the abilities that sacrifice something to powerup something else. For example kurapika does sacrifice his health and life to get such boost of power. Also training means spending lifetime at the end. Specialists apply conditions to achieve unique things and abilities. For example, they can watch in the future or in the past with certain complex abilities. It's not like a specialist becomes special, it doesn't enhance the properties of an object, instead it adds properties to an object.

@@alessandromariani3015 I think its fair and balanced IF this 'swapping out' only works on ONE. Would be strong but not broken if Neteros Buddha-Statue could be 'summoned/made' via Specialization but then still needs 'normal' Manipulation to work.

@@nenmaster5218 Transmuters? xD killua, hisoka, the greed island boomer, 2 of the phantom trup minimum, zeno, bisky and many more. Specialists it's said in the anime that only 1% of the other types can unlock it. Actually it's even less. It should just be a nen type, like all the others, without this unlock thing.
