Hi Rick: I owned a bicycle shop for 11 years and I have to say that evert one should learn how to use the front brake all the time whether or not you are going a down hill. 70% of your braking power is in the front brake. It is best to learn to squeeze slowly and gently and gradually tighten your grip on the lever. I also ride motorcycles and the rule is still the same. Also on Motorcycles the front brake lever is on the right so if you use both bicycles and motorcycles it is best to have both front brake levers on the right. That so you will not get confused if you are switching back and forth.
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that information, John. I mainly use both brakes, bringing the rear one in slightly ahead of the front.

That was nice of you. I had no idea till one day I rode with a vet. I was afraid of the front tire slipping out. But we practiced on dirt.

Absolutely right. If you ride a motorcycle year round you learn this right away. Ease on in the curve but that front wheel is your best friend when some one decides turn signals aren't something that they ever bother to use 😢

@@gonagain Your review actually sealed the deal for me because I ordered one right after I finish watching it :-) So far I like it. As you said, this bike really moves! I'm impressed by how well accelerates, even up hills. Everything you mentioned in the review was spot-on. I'm having to get used to the abrupt pedal assist engagement. A couple of other issues; the front brake rotor was warped and the rear brake caliper was bent. I'm still having a problem of when I engage the rear break that it pulsates and shudders. I'm not sure if you found this as well, but it seems like the suspension seatpost bottoms out. I'm about 200 lb and I'm not sure why it's doing that. Otherwise, it's a great bike for the price. I don't see anything else out there with the specs that compares.

So after a year what do you think of your Fiido? I am giving some very serious consideration of getting one. I have two issues and they are with any eBike, the first is the frequency of battery replacement and its cost ($650 for the T1 + freight), the second, and I just read this today (8/4/23) on the Fiido website, that motors will last 500 hours, 1 hour a day for two years. they list a motor for every bike but I didn't see one for the T1. So all that being said, that is why I am asking how you like the T1 after a year in the desert. BTW, that looks like some fun riding, I'm up in the PNW, Portland but I have some property in La Pine. Perhaps a follow review video?... Happy trails.
@gonagain Жыл бұрын
I actually live in central Montana and the Fiido is still a favorite ebike. i use it several times a week for errands around town and I still take it camping on occasion. I don't have any idea as to the longevity of the motor, but many people have gotten thousands of miles on their ebikes and are still going strong. Also, Fiido is one of the older companies out there, so parts should be easy to get. I expect to get 10 years from my battery with proper care. Don't charge it when it's warm (after a ride) and, if you are storing the battery for a long time, make sure it's between 60-80% charge and not full. My friend rides his T1 all the time in rough conditions without any problems. The only problem that I see on ebikes is electrical connections that may cause intermittent problems until you chase them down.

Hi Rick. I believe I think, I know the location where you are riding. But then again Thousands of acres look similar in the desert. Gee, I want one of these E-Bikes and for sure I will have one soon, just need to know who is the 'best on the block' with certain features. Love the Real-Seat, not a banana to straddle, that's a must. Swapping out the tires No big deal. You're collecting quite an assortment of e-bikes. I like your reviews of the bikes and also the scenery of where you are riding them. A question I have for you would be when you were out somewhere and you stopped to go exploring, what do you think is the best way to secure the bike?
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Hello Kyle! Usually at that places where I explore there aren't any people around, so I don't worry to much, but I bought a U lock for those times when I think I might need it. Just buy the best one of those that you can afford and also remove the battery and take it with you whenever possible. The battery is expensive and the bike is useless without it, making it kind of less attractive to a thief.

@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Hello Don, the best way is to just use the 110 volt charging brick that came with the ebike and plug it into an inverter. I know that there is a power loss doing it that way, but at least the battery is properly protected. That being said, you can purchase an adjustable voltage MPPT controller thru Amazon that allows you to match the bike's battery voltage and connect that directly to a solar panel. There are a few YT videos on how to do that.

@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Rad Runner wasn't the first with this design either. This just happens to be a good design for a utility bike. One outstanding feature of the T1 Cargo is the much lower, rear rack, which greatly improves stability. That's noticeable when you're carrying a load and, almost, tip the bike over. The effort to bring the bike back up is a lot less. Add to that the fact that the T1 Cargo has trouble free mag wheels instead of spokes, larger tires, bigger battery, 7 speed gearing compared to the RadRunner2 single speed and has a front rack included says that the only similarity is the olive drab military color, which has been around since WW2.

Great review - might anyone know when the new display in mph will be available, and if it will be able to be swapped out with the existing display on the user end? Very interested
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
They had one that is in mph but the display was dim so they are working on fixing that. I'm not sure when that one will be out.

Good video 😎 Nice bike, I'm wondering if the battery from the L3 Will fit it 🤔 Then I would have a spare battery to take with me 😀

I will wait for you tell me how to get the battery out. Thank you.
@gonagain11 ай бұрын
Hello Gerry, first flip the seat up by uding the lever under the rear side of the seat. Then, push the key "in" and turn it to the left (counter clockwise) until it stops. After that you can give the battery a good tug straight up and it should come out.

Hello , I wanted to know if no shock absorber at the back (except sit) is a problem for the structure and the wheel ?
@gonagain Жыл бұрын
Hello Raphael. No, it's ok on the structure of the bike and you ride over the rough places by raising yourself off of the seat slightly. A rear shock is more for the handling (stability and tracking) when you're riding really rough trails.

Yes, you can do that.

Bike looks perfect 👌 but what about passenger riding? Is there foot pegs for extra rider and plastic guards to protect your feet ?
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
No, there are no foot pegs for a passenger or plastic guards.

@@gonagain That sucks I need a ebike with all the accessories options of the radrunner with the power of the fido t1 especially cruise control. I wish every ebike company has a radrunner style bike.

It appears that the “springs in the seat post”, are actually under the seat, not in the seat post?
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Hello Jack. No, there's a spring that's actually in the seat post that takes out the jolts. It isn't much, but it certainly helps.

Sheesh, if they Americanize the bike you'd think they'd get the brakes correct. 😮 Like the battery. 👍

Hello. I liked your review. I have a couple of questions. How hard is it to fix a flat tire on the rear hub? Have you ever had to do that? Would this bike carrry a 275 lb rider? Thanks
@gonagain2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will handle a 275lb rider and whereas I haven't done a flat tire on the rear, it should be a very straightforward job. I will have a video coming out soon on doing a flat tire repair.

I put it on the charger. But the controller that makes it work will not stay on. I have the one that came with it. Can you help me out.
@gonagain11 ай бұрын
It sounds like the charger thinks that the battery is fully charged. First of all, check and make sure that the electrical contacts on the bottom of the battery and on the frame of the bike are clean and making a good contact and try installing the battery again. Maybe it's fully charged and is just not making a good contact. If that doesn't work then contact Fiido for more information: support@fiido.com; Please include following information: Platform of the purchase, such as fiido.com, Amazon, Brand Store, etc. (If purchased on Amazon, Please also include the seller name on your order) Order number/ID/Date The email and shipping address you used when placed order Pictures/Short videos of the problems and a brief description of the problems Please contact us and get our written approval before sending any item back. Any product returned without acceptance will not be refunded.

Hey Rick, just stumbled upon this bike with your review and I'm extremely impressed. Did Fiido mention when they will come out with accessories for this bike? Definitely in my top contenders going forward when I get an ebike in the spring.
