Your videos bring back so many good memories! M we lived in Henderson, Nevada for 20+ years and have been to many of the places that you have been. Almost every weekend we would go rock hounding and just go exploring the deserts of Nevada, and the surrounding states. So many interesting places we found out in the middle of nowhere! Old mining camps, old cars just left behind after the mining was no longer being worked. Petroglyphs, petrographs , old grave stones, and just a lot of neat antiques you can find.

I didn't understand the burnt tree and stuff on the ground. You think arson? If there's no tire tracks, it would be lighting. I'm just about ready to start filming my preparations to go on the road. Today, i tore out the passenger side of my bench seat, to hide my tools. Everything worth stealing goes in the truck or under false floor in trailer.

On a side note, when we went exploring, we always packed our gear and supplies as if we were expecting to get broke down or stuck! Getting caught off guard in the desert is know Joke and can lead to deadly consequences! Especially in the hot spring and summer months! It’s essential to anyone to have a plan, and to always let someone know in what general area that you are heading. Also a good GPS is also essential, cause after awhile those desert roads can become confusing and begin to look alike.

Great video again! Thought you might end with a fade out of the scene where you were stopped on the highway contemplating where the dirt road. “ I wonder where it goes…” then fade. Anyway, as I said good video. I hope your knee gets better. I tore a meniscus myself a few years ago and they didn’t recommend surgery. Thanks for another glimpse into the outback -- even if it's not so far out that it's immune to spoilage. I suppose one of the things that makes us different from most other animals is our relatively weak instincts. Under ideal circumstances, our moral and ethical principles could fill in the void. But we are not as we should be, so of course the instinctive default is so impoverished that we wind up fouling our own nest and similar shortcomings. The appropriate term for us, alas, can only be "subhuman".

Thanks for taking us along. I'm curious if you have done any mods to your Yukon for these offroad adventures. It looks like your tires are all terrains have you done anything else?
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
I keep good tires on it and make sure everything is in top shape. The one thing I did was to make a "Trap Door" above the gas tank mounted fuel pump located under the rear seat behind the driver. This is to make replacing the fuel pump something that can be done by myself should the need arise again. I don't carry a spare pump, but at least I can do the job without having to drop the gas tank! They're know to go out now and then...

Hello Rick and Linda..!! How do you maintain those clean, clear headlights..??
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
They just haven't faded, otherwise I don't know.
@thomaslotito3803 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, I’m sorry to tell you, despite your security precautions your trailer can easily be stolen. Behind your hitch lock all of your bolts are exposed. If someone were to unbolt your ball hitch lock they could put another one on and tow the trailer away. I hope you change out the bolts for type that cannot be easily removed. Thanks for your videos, I enjoy visiting with you every week. PS, watch a few episodes of the lock picking lawyer. Might help with your security concerns.
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas. My trailer is aluminum so I couldn't weld the ball hitch to the frame, but I did weld the nuts on the bolts. There's always a way to steal something and that's what I meant by "do what you can". By the way, have you ever tried to pick a lock like the Lock Picking Lawyer does? What looks so easy on YT is just about impossible for the average person. I know because I try it and can never get it done. Now add some dust to the lock internals and some hard position to work in, like down low to the ground, and only a pro could make it work. I originally did a video about this a couple of years ago and boy did I get an education about trailer security from the comments! Some really novel ideas and actual working systems were suggested for travel and storage. Everyone needs to take your suggestion too, thanks!
