If you like good coffee as much as we do, then you'll want to watch how we make ours because we use some special tricks to make it smooooooth! In this video we show exactly how to make really good cowboy coffee, the right way! Then we show you an alternative to "pour over" coffee that we know you'll be interested in. Whether you're at home, camping, hiking, overlanding or other activity, you can enjoy the coffee that comes from doing it right and we think this is the best coffee possible.

Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If your into being off-grid and boondocking whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

I’m from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. I’m 78 by the way and when I was a child my mom always made coffee the “cowboy” coffee way. We had no electric or running water. Had a beautiful cook stove in the kitchen and that’s all you could smell in the morning was the coffee.

A pinch of salt in the grounds helps eliminate bitterness. The wife and I regularly do cowboy coffee. No filters needed and only one cooking implement needed (a pot of some sort), so it is the perfect "primitive" method for making mud of life.

I stopped using paper filters completely. I hate the taste of them. Now, I make cold brew and only use paper filters in conjunction with my other filters just to strain out the fine particles. I don't ever use paper filters for cooking coffee because they taste so bad in the coffee.

Nothing like a good cup of coffee plus biscuit, sausage, eggs and jelly. When I was young we poured our coffee in a cup and then would pour it in a saucer and drink it out of the saucer, how many people remember that. I sure do. Back in the old days coffee was boiled in a pot and was scalding hot. People didn’t have time to wait for it to cool, they had work to do and that’s where the saucer came in to play. Good video and I can smell that coffee brewing. Take care

Put coffee in the pot, add two whole raw eggs, fill with water and place the pot on the fire. Bring the water just to the boil and turn off the heat. Let steep until the grounds settle. The calcium in the egg shells neutralizes the acid so that I can drink several cups on an empty stomach. And I have boiled eggs for lunch!

We're currently camped and are surrounded by beautiful scenery and... cows, but we happen to be enjoying a mug of that coffee right now.

Great info. I have been using an old style peculator when camping. I will try the little funnel method soon. Speaking of cold back in Montana... It was 23 below at my house in Emigrant this morning. However, it is so beautiful with the fresh snow.

I had always used drip coffee until I watch Cowboy Ken perk coffee. I have been perking my coffee since and it is so smooth! I will keep perking or use the French press but I learned the four minute rule from your video today. Thanks pardon!

@@gonagain Wow that's cold. Wonder just how many miles you've put on that trailer over the years (: Always fun to see you and Linda on your adventures. Take care

I'm not sure how many miles we have on it, but I'm going to just replace all the bearings to be safe.

I love my coffee in the morning. Just a simple 4 cup coffee maker; filter, grounds, water and turn it on. Pour in cup, sweeten with a little Agave and color with Carnation milk. Just coffee in a plain unwashed ceramic cup. No baristas or other bullshit. Real coffee for real people. I noticed that your videos are being presented in a manner that shows you take pride in making the videos. You and Linda are representative of what is right in America. Keep it up.

My husband loves cowboy coffee, I never liked it because of the grounds. Thanks to you two I can now do some fine tuning to my cowboy coffee and see if I like it and if my husband notices the new cowboy coffee.

Thank you for showing us your methods of coffee making. We use Toddy cold brew because it also filters out the oils and acid. We love Kirkland brand in the can and also Seattle's Best. We love watching you too and have similar interests. We live in Eastern Oregon. Thanks again for posting your great videos. Love you guys.

Boil water. Remove from fire. Let boil settle. Add coffee and let float. When grinds become saturated gently pour cold water on top of grinds starting at center and circle pouring until grind sink. If any stubborn grinds remain tap until they sink. Stick horseshoe into pot and if if it stands up its ready to drink. Thanks for a video, will subscribe.

I wasn't aware of the horseshoe trick but will keep my eyes peeled for a good one, not too worn out.

Never ever saw somebody make a vid about coffee before, but I drink it everyday an learned some new things that I didn't know. Alls I've ever known was an old style percolator ( still have it ) an a Mr. Coffee maker. See you can, teach an old dog new tricks, thx for the vid.

We have a very simple one switch on/off Mr.Coffee elec.machine in our travel trailer... which we use on electric in campgrounds , when camping though we use it in a non-electric drip mode ..Millie boils water in a pan on the stove and pours it over the coffee grinds in the MR. Coffee machine . But rather than do that in the morning , Millie makes a pot of coffee before she goes to bed and puts it in our incredible Nissan thermos bottle ..stays nice and hot till morning... and it's easy clean up ,just chuck the coffee filter/grinds in the trash .
