jman I love the original, and you’re right. The music in the original was so catchy and it really pumped me up, but it wasn’t for years that I actually paid attention to the lyrics and how sad the song really was. This is really a much more appropriate tone for the lyrics, but I will always love the original.
@zeppfan6666 жыл бұрын
I love both versions, this one is more mellow and somber, but the original has that angry feel to it, like you have been cheated out of time with that person, and how you want to fight to get them back, they both touch on strong emotions that you feel when you are grieving.
@inflameslp3116 жыл бұрын
zeppfan666 I can agree with that. There is noticeable angst in Dexter's vocals. Very good point that grief is a mixed bag of emotions, from denial that there is absolutely nothing you can do to get them back to acceptance and trying to figure out how to go on without them.

Unfortunately great musicians are often born out of terrible circumstances which they sometimes just can't get away from. Everyone has their own mental struggles and money and fame don't change that; in some cases it makes things worse because not only do you feel depressed, you get attacked because people think you have no reason to be, which makes you feel worse, and on top of that there's an immense pressure to live up to the expectations of your fans. That couple with the ease of getting hold of drugs is a dangerous mix. But there are just as many people who aren't famous going through the same thing so in a world where you can be anything, be kind.

I pray for you that you find peace in your soul. You both got to say I love you and those 3 words are never spoken lightly to a loved one. Just feel it in your heart how much you loved each other and know this, She Knew she was loved by the concern you showed. That " I love you " was your goodbye. If the last words I would say or hear for myself I could go in peace and love or know that I got to say I love you one last time. Let your heart soul and mind know you Did get to say goodbye. May peace be upon you from today forward my friend. Amen

Omfg!!! How am I just finding this version just now April 2024!!!I got the chills through out my body and goosebumps and cried.! I was meant to find it as I’m going through a difficult grief since December 4, 2023. I literally can’t even recognize myself anymore. Im pushing everyone away and dealing alone . I’m a shadow of my former self 😢 wow I literally played the shit out of this song in 2017 and 2018. I saw offspring oct 2017. I stayed right in front the entire time . Elbow smashing people and bumping people that tried to push me back while also double fisting beers. I loved every moment of it. Started in front with a group of 10 friends and I was the last one out of my group. Was amazing and so happy I found this version it’s touching to the core of my soul ❤
