Yes. ***** The pain she was harboring was deep. She was not happy with her love life or herself. She wanted to be loved, feel it and experience it...the lasting kind. But she did not lover herself. She was very tall, powerful and in a lot of ways she felt it was a turn off or intimidating... BUT I THOUGHT SHE WAS GORGEOUS. She was beautiful and someone wanted to love her... it was just not in enough time. I miss her.

I’ll be 33 this year and I must say, she is my vocal inspiration. What a dynamic powerhouse! Most people my age haven’t been blessed enough to come across Ms. Phyllis Hyman. Cheryl Bandele Phyllis was and is my favorite musical artist. Her voice was so unique and soulful and touched your heart. I remember coming home from work in my car and heard on the radio about her death. I live in Detroit and Detroit LOVED Phyllis. I was so hurt. It was like losing a family member. She is missed, but we still can enjoy her through her music.

I was so in love with Phyllis Hyman that I named my first car after her!! I was only 18 years old then. Man, she could blow! Soulful, meaningful, touching you to the very core. Her death was such a blow. "Gonna Make Changes", "Be Careful", "You Know How To Love Me" are STILL at the top of my R&B All-Time fav lists! You are not forgotten Queen Phyllis!✝️🎶🎵🎼❤❤❤

Phyllis is immeasurable in her craft. She like others from that era had to work at it and maintain it. There must have been something in the water back then, because a majority of artist of today don't project the image and vocal talents. Most sound flat and can't hold a note.

So true Ms Hyman was black and also bi-racial and she were proud of her back ground. I think people tend to put so much color into verything these days. Ms Hyman were a very rarespecimen when it came to music, she did'nt mind putting her all into it. Sadly so called Divas of today dont share that same emotion or level of artistry.
