Very very very useful and I should add that it's something that goes even beyond the youtube upload. For instance it is a way to keep the quality consistent regardless of the monitor of your client and the media player they're using. I've tried every other one and at the end I've opted for the same Film Grain effect in Davinci as you do. Keep up the good stuff!

Film grain make the footage less sharp after upload on KZbin because compression. It helps with banding maybe but video is definitely less sharp with film grain on KZbin
@LucaBono.Studio2 жыл бұрын
As long as you dodge the compression and denoiser, your video will be fine..but yeah, Vimeo handles the film grain a bit better than youtube. Cheers!

I much prefer Dehancer grain to the native grain in Resolve Studio. The "how" to deal with hardware-intensive computations is not part of my creative process (it doesn't matter).

Luca what are your thoughts on using a static image film grain overlay vs. plug-in vs. video overlay?
@LucaBono.Studio2 жыл бұрын
I'm fine with the overlay...the quality is good and it's faster to render! Thanks for watching!

Isn't h265 better? Which codec does KZbin prefer so as not to lose quality in 4K? This video was exported in which codec? I love it's quality 🤣

Great video mate. I've recently uploaded a music video with a real 35mm film grain overlay. I unlisted it because the compression was so bad that the footage became mushy. Will desaturation work with this and can I do something similar on Premiere Pro?
@LucaBono.Studio Жыл бұрын
Yo! You should use a fine grain without chroma noise (without saturation). I think you can create a film grain in After Effects, there should be a fast noise function. If you can't find a solution, I've a link in the description to download a film grain preset I've made. Good luck!

For KZbin, unless you're uploading a 4K video, grain gets washed out.
