shit... as sad as that is, I can kind of see that happening, and almost want it to. It sticks to the realistic notion that Aziraphale has to develop himself better first before letting Crowley back into his life. He has so much religious trauma, and fear, and still stuck to that cultist mindset that needs sorting through so he doesn't hurt himself or Crowley again. Plus, being apart for many years is not unusual for them. Though it would be the first time in their 6000 years together that they separate through such intense heartbreak, possibly forever. edit: you may be correct even through extra evidence in the show. If Nina and Maggie represent Crowley and Aziraphale, then Nina saying that she's not ready to get into a relationship with Maggie because she just went through a rough breakup with her old toxic partner could definitely be foreshadow for either Crowley or Aziraphale not yet being ready to get together full-force due to their old respective toxic relationships. But as Nina says, she hopes Maggie will be there waiting for her, as Crowley is waiting for Aziraphale. (In the sense that Maggie reflects Crowley being available and ready, but Nina reflects Aziraphale needing to break free and heal from Heaven's trauma first).

this was the first thing I saw after finishing S2, and it had the most beautiful impact on my heart. This is exactly what I want from S3, a moment with just the two of them. I can picture Crowley's soft, solemn expression so well in my head...I hope S3 gets green-lit. edit: I just realised Crowley tears up when saying "...as the day I lost you". I can't recover. How beautiful is this.
