There's a lot of information out there that didn't exist 20, 15, 10 years ago and the people that are taking coaching, that are studying and improving their game are the ones that are finding success and the ones that aren't doing that are losing and saying online poker is rigged. This isn't 2004, 2005 anymore where you could beat 200NL and 500NL consistently as a recreational player. If you want to be a successful, for-profit online player, then it's absolutely imperative that you study and improve your game.

I appreciate and understand (for most part) what you talk about "perception of poker & online poker". I am sure as players spend more time in Poker and start STUDYING and understanding the tip of iceberg of Variance, they (me included) begin to appreciate the depth at which good players THINK about poker in general and at specific action level in all hands played. Having level headed players as poker friends would most definitely be so +EV starting out and through the journey of making it in world of Poker! Just felt like putting in few more good words towards your efforts here! My best wishes.

A suggestion for a video could be reviewing a subscribers hand and saying what you like/dont like. Giving feedback etc. you can do this by making a discord community and telling what time you will do hand reviews and you can move one person into the call at a time to do a hand replayed via screen share or just talking. You can also make money if you grow a discord server.

You mention about making money Live, where studying players (likely) have much better skill edge as compared to online games. While, that's true for most part, don't you think the variance could be a LOT more difficult to handle? Even if you get in the softest games, where "no folds" is common strategy, denying equity is happening a LOT less and we essentially have to "make hands" to stack players, so in summary volume ALONE can neutralise the variance while realising all the true EV can take a lot of playing.. (which is physically tougher than online games). How do you think about this?
@makepokersimple
@makepokersimple 28 күн бұрын
@@1LevelUpGuy variance gets higher the lower your winrate is. Most people that complain about variance are just bad.
@1LevelUpGuy
@1LevelUpGuy 28 күн бұрын
@@makepokersimple I agree to the fact that most people who complain about variance are bad. Online about 3K hands a day easily doable and I imagine 300 hands a day would be a stretch for live "grind". BUT, consider this comparison on primedope variance calculation website.. A. 5bb/100 Win Rate of online player playing over 100K hands has 2.4% probability of being in loss after 100K hands B. 15bb/100 Win Rate of live player playing over 10K hands has 3% probability of being in loss after 10K hands! (both examples over 80bb/100 SD) Even with an edge that's 3x it doesn't seem like there's ever going to be enough volume to help us realise it well enough. Am I missing some important piece of this puzzle?
@makepokersimple
@makepokersimple 28 күн бұрын
@@1LevelUpGuy what do you mean? if you play 250 hands a day of live a day, you'll play 10k hands in 40 days of play. thats about 2 months of grinding. so you have a 3% chance of being in loss every 2 months. that seems pretty good to me.
@1LevelUpGuy
@1LevelUpGuy 28 күн бұрын
@@makepokersimple The intent behind sharing numbers is basically me not seeing the point of having so much edge while not really getting proportionate benefits of it in the results. In summary(over similar time frame): Online play w 5bb Win rate makes 50 Buy Ins (2.4% risk of loss over 100K hand sample) Live play w 15bb win rate makes 15 Buy ins (3% risk of loss over 10K hands)

In an environment like this, how do you figure out the skill level of your opponents? On this video you say things like, "He could be bluffing with AK here..." Really? I watched this video with the assumption your opponents were the same ones I play $1-$3 against and I was usually right. I know it's a small sample and you're the pro and I'm not. But I still wonder whether it's wiser to assume they're usually not bluffing than to assume they might be bluffing. Do you track how often you're right and wrong when you assume they are (or are not) bluffing? I've started tracking how often I'm right and wrong when I guess what my opponents have and my track record is well above 50%. But I play loose-passive $1-$3 types.
