A good samaritain by definition doesn't want or need recognition because that's not why he did it!!

Many good samaritans have been arrested as well for helping people so I definitely wouldn't trust them lol

He did a good thing, and went about his business. No need for media attention. Kind souls exist, and if we want it to stay that way we should all just let those kind souls be

In Poland, where I'm from, we have this version of "good Samaritan's law". Polish Penal Code in article 162 clearly states, that whoever avoids helping other people in life-threatening situations is subject to penalty up to 3 years of prison. That article mainly concerns situations like traffic accidents, people having major health issues in public places, victims of assaults et c. So, in Poland such help is actually being enforced by the law itself. However, even if there was no such law, majority of people would still rush to help, simply because, well... it's a right thing to do. What the guy in the video did, is just an example of proper social responsibility. In layman's terms - he acted as any decent human being should. It's crazy to think, that in some countries you can be actually sued for HELPING. I've heard of these cases in US, when a victim of - say - stroke or heart failure would later sue the person, who saved their life. If you ask me, it doesn't matter, if they sue you. Life comes first. But the law should also always protect those, who act in a good faith, with honest intentions. If the law allows something like suing honest citizens for helping, then as an effect society will refrain from helping others, and that is very, VERY wrong. A decent man doesn't need nor requires a reward for actions, that should be considered something normal. But sure as hell he also shouldn't be punished for them.

When I was stationed in Germany those same laws applied.

The good samaritan might just be doing it just because but another reason he could be having a warm or something. And that's why most people don't help most of the time cause they might have some kind of was just a good person and doesn't need any recognition

Let the man be, he ducked out for a reason. If you put him on blast, that will make us not want to help in the future ...

How it should be, you don't need fame or risk of retaliation from doing the right thing. Also he could easily have been a criminal with warrants himself, but had enough morals to not want to see someone die that day. Let the cowboy go in peace.

Both the offiser and suspect are stupid. The officer was in a car and got out so far away from the running suspect. He easily could have drove in front of the guy then chased on foot or tasted the guy from the cruiser. And the guy running on foot from a cop in a car is stupid, he'd have been better off trying to hide in one of the mulch trailers. 😂
